Finally got the Tow Pig set up!

We have a 1977 Kenworth dump truck with a cat engine in it. I just got all kinds of new chrome and stainless for it. New stacks, flaps/fenders, bumper, and new Yokohamas and polished Alcoas up front. The older trucks have more soul than these new sloped nose smoothy, slant eye/headlighted trucks.

    Sold/Expired BIG BALLOOOOON tires

In a perfect world Id like to find a couple 39" Mickey Thompson Baja Belted tires for 15" rim. I need to replace one and would not mind having a spare. Id also be open to any other FAT old school tires like Cepeks, Thornbirds, Boggers, Swampers etc. Need to be 14-20 inches wide (no 12.50s...

    Cj7 steering issues

Straight , no toe on a straight axle. Just cuz ya talk to him everyday doesn't mean he did it right. Either fix geometry, sloppy parts are just man up and mob that botch thru the 30-38mph zone till she smooths out. Dont blame tires tho for a sloppy or crooked rig. I drive a chevy truck with...

    Cj7 steering issues

Did you cut and turn the knuckles? It's hard to believe that you have 6 degrees and a decent front driveshaft angle with a WAGGY axle. Waggy axles were spring under and have one of the worst pinion angles around when used in a lifted or spring over app.

    Cj7 steering issues

Some good advice in here and some bullshit to Lay them balljoints back at 4-6 degrees if you wanna cruise. Driveline will be ****ed unless you cut and turn knuckles. Halfassery drives good but wheels bad, or wheels good but drives bad. Wholeassery can drive AND wheel good. Spend some...

    winch talk

Rope is for fishing. Where corrosion is a concern. You will never see rope on a skidder or a tow truck where people make a living with a winch. Rope is a cool novelty with HUGE retail markup.

Do you use harbor freight tools

Im going to disagree with the impact sockets. Maybe they are ok if you have a weak HF impact. I have a set that I put in a toolbag and used them with a gun once and turned two of them into BELLS. Flared them out like a cheap brakeline. JUNK.

Do you use harbor freight tools

Win some ya lose some. Read the reviews. If its a pile of **** (you should be able to tell by inspecting it, but if not,) the review comments will tell you the story. Or if its got low stars but just has one bad reason, the comments will tell you why its a POS and if its just a simple fix...

    Anyone know Ford automatics?

Cheaper/easier to just get a little beater rig with a 4banger to jam around in.

    Sold/Expired Need BBC engine.

If you buy its private party, no warranty,,,, If its not a roller cam engine pull the intake and inspect EVERY cam lobe. If a lobe or two are missing, chances are they are now in the first second and a little bit in the third main bearing. Pull the pan and look for residue in line with any of...

    Sold/Expired Need BBC engine.

Wrecking yard. Check the warranty and see if they have more inventory in case you need to warranty it. Stay AWAY from "Low Mile" RV engines. They usually have a half dozen rusty valves and seats from sitting in one position with a handful of valves open and rusting the valves and seats...
