I have been running Stanadyne Performance since day #1 140k. Filter comes out thru the top and gets changed every other oil change. I usually soak the filter in CLEAN diesel before installing it, seems to help with the refire.

Do pull the starter it makes the job much easier. Not to tricky to do but like LUCKY said it is a bit of a reach! While you have the starter out go ahead and replace the contacts in it. They will be shot if the starter is very old. They are fairly cheap and will save much headache in the...

I own 3 of the Battery Tender + chargers. All have worked without a hitch. They also offer the waterproof 800. The BT's can be left on a battery indefinatly with no ill affects.

Buy a "battery tender plus" and be done with all battery issues. It can be hooked up to an 12v battery and left for as long as you want. It will not over charge. I have been using a few of these for the last 4-5 years and all batteries are still in perfect shape.
