I've been running xr10 w cable for 5 or 6 years. After cussing the cheap remote several times I wired up in cable controls and it's been great. IIRC the remote design has been improved.
It's not the fastest thing in the world but it's never failed me. Pulled a 1 ton van on 40s out of a bumper...
Another vote for Lansky or similar. I've been using mine for over 20 years. With quality steel in a blade it will achieve razor sharpness. I chose to not go to the fine stone because a slightly coarse edge will stay sharp longer
For day to day knife use, I carry a folding razor knife.
I've got a 97 ccsb 4x4 w the 5 spd. I love the truck and other than typical BS I haven't had any problems. I don't even know mileage since the odometer didn't work when I bought it 5 yrs ago.
I'm no high performance baller, but I've had great service out of a tranny cooler mounted in front of my radiator. Just a modified Sag pump on a Yota 2F motor.
Never run anything but Otter Box Defender. I launched a phone off my dash in my cruiser once when I took off from a gas station. It hit the ground at about 25 mph, skipped and landed on the sidewalk. I prompty parked on the curb and hit the flashers. Ran back and the phone was perfectly fine.
Ive used a high lift many times. When it starts lifting the rig and the bead hasn't broke, I hit the tire with a sledge and it pops. I won't stand on the tire because I dig being bipodal.
Years ago I spent a month in Bolivia high up in the mountains working on a camp for underpriveledged youth. We all took turns doing different chores to maintain everything. Well, on my day to work in the kitchen ( which was a dirt floored and dirt walled structure with the a eucolyptus fired...
Best thing I ever did. I got it done after planned kid number two.
When I met w the doc for the consultation I told him I was going to be anxious as hell when I came in to get it done. He prescribed me two Valium or something. Ate one on the 20 minute drive there and the second when I arrived...
I could care less about built or bought. What is important is not being an ass hat and getting out and wheeling.
There is no doubt buying is a more efficient method both in time and expense. For me, I built my rig for the personal experience and challenges. It was about the journey not the...
I shot a hub off one day backing up but I'm fairly sure my junk was loose. Another hub and some arp studs later I have been fine. Really should check torque on hub and steering arms each day you wheel.
Back to ARP studs. I did some research and apparently the Trail Gear ones are junky and a...
