Hook up a pressure tester to the fuel rail. watch the pressure when you turn it off. If it bleeds down, it is either returning to the tank or your injectors are bleeding off. from your description, it sounds like injectors. try a can of seafoam, that should help with the injectors leaking.

Jacob, as it is your son and riding with you, it would probably be OK, I would not like it if an unrelated person that young were along. Something to think about also, is he strong enough to pull cable and experienced enough to spot you?

You actually would be OK, but better with one locker in the TJ. You can get by fine if you both have winches. (and GPS's) If you can drive smart, you can do well regardless of the rig.

We seriously need more teams to do this event. We do not have enough to make it worthwhile, let alone pay for itself. Talk to your friends and get them signed up. If we don't do it this year, we won't try again...
