    Drive shaft shortening.

That is exactly what I've heard about them. I might inquire anyway.

    Drive shaft shortening.

I'm the exact opposite. I think he's gotten one of the shafts I've had him make right. It is currently on a shelf at ACRaO snapped in half at the weld between tube and male splined portion. First shaft I got was 6 inches too long. The second front shaft fit but with only only about two...

    Drive shaft shortening.

I appreciate the offers guys. If it were the front shaft a garage style hack-n-zap would most likely be fine. For rear shaft I'd kinda like to find reasonable guy/shop who is setup to do this kinda thing. Aukeem was my go-to until he retired. I don't need it rebalanced but I still like to...

    8.5X24 Enclosed trailer frame material?

And by any day now I meant two more months. I just got back from looking at it. They got it in today. I want to take my rig down and test load it to make sure it fits but the t-case is out of it. Once it's built and back in I can do that. Probably drag it home Monday.

    Drive shaft shortening.

So who are we using to get drive shafts shortened locally? While I've got it out it'd be good to get my latest Tom Woods ****up fixed. It needs to be cut down 1.25 inches. No rebalance needed.

    12v Cummins Problems

Go look anyway. IIRC 2nd gen trucks got an 80 if it had a manual transmission and it was an option for auto trucks If it was ordered that way. Also, when I pulled mine apart the ring gear had cracks in the valleys between all the remaining teeth. If you pull the cover and inspect the ring...

    12v Cummins Problems

Waking up the Cummins is easy. Keeping the transmission alive behind it, not so much. At least you have a Dana 80 center and 4:10s. I managed to rip three teeth off my Dana 70 ring gear. Still made it home.

    8.5X24 Enclosed trailer frame material?

Sorry I've been away. I ordered this trailer shortly after this thread started. It should be arriving any day now.

    8.5X24 Enclosed trailer frame material?

I towed my tow rig home almost one year ago. Broke six of the eight lugs on my passenger rear tire and ejected it from the truck between Elbe and Eatonville on a Sunday morning. Slid to a stop on the brake drum and trailer jack. A year before that I broke a Dana 70 merging onto 512. Shot...

    8.5X24 Enclosed trailer frame material?

Disc brakes on a trailer? Never heard of that, but I'll look into it. I agree with you on the torsion axles as well. I get it and they seem superior for some things but for my volume of use I need serviceability and durability. My primary concern is fatigue leading to cracks and eventual...

    What states have you wheeled?

Washington, Oregon, Utah and Commiland. I need to get out more.

    8.5X24 Enclosed trailer frame material?

I am upgrading to an enclosed car trailer. All of my wants and needs are ironed out now except for the frame material. With all the reading I've done I'm still undecided, so I wanted to see if anyone here has some input specific to our kind of use. Steel frame or aluminum? Trailer will be an...

    Goatbuilt JHF buggy build

What is that! A rock buggy for ANTS? How do you expect to perform magnificent feats if you can't even fit a basket ball under the belly of the frame? Your rig is going to have to be at least... three times taller than that.
