    Bearwallow

We've opened up quite a few new trails this year with multiple more still in need of tire tracks. Bearwallow has two trails that has not been conquered and one trail that has only had one guy make it to the end (but he did bypass the last ledge). We opened up one that is more hill killing than...

Thanks Mike, sorry for the delay. Here is a bootleg copy of the Bearwallow Trail System, however make sure the trail is open before attempting it. HMT is diligently working to get all the brush and deadfalls cleared but all the trails are not scheduled to be open until Late May.

All the new trails have been approved by the Landowner and the environmental studies have been completed. The crew started clearing and opening the new trails a 2 weeks ago and should be finished by the end of the month. I have a bootleg copy of the new map so I'll get that posted up in the...

Here is a pic of a section of trail just below Lower Watershed. HMT will have to do some considerable dozer work to even get to this section but it's pretty crazy looking. It's 80-100 feet of almost vertical sandstone slide that I don't think can be done but hey it would be fun to try.

Bearwallow currently have about 5 with 8 more coming online in the next few months. I've helped HMT with all the trail scouting and mapping but I have no affiliation with the park, here is a list. 1. Shaft 2. Gatekeeper 3. The Rock 4. Wishful Thinking 5. Pinion 6. Pickle 7. Double...

In the Spring Bearwallow will change from Bearwallow Trail System to Bearwallow Off Road Park. I met with HMT a few months back to finalize plans to have 3-4 days of wheeling open to the public before the Grand Opening on or near Memorial Day 2017. I spent the past couple days working with...

A couple new trails I scouted last month. The Bypass This is the upper section of Long Crawl which still needs opened. That's about a 3 foot ledge Gate Keeper - I know it doesn't look like it but that's a 5 foot obstacle

Last trip down I finally got around to running the connector trail down to Logan for some fuel and a quick run through the drive-thru at McDonald's.

Since our trails are so much different than side by sides and 4wheelers, HMT wanted me to show Congressman Evan Jenkins and his delegation a quick example of what type of trails we need. After failing at my first attempt at Pickle I was too far to the right and deep in an undercut. When I...

Spring is a great time for a big ride, it will also give me some time to get a few more of the really tough trails cleared and ready to open. Had a sit down with HMT last month and the plan is to have 3 hard days of riding available by the end of April. We are scheduled to take the landowner...

Hatfield and McCoy Trail System just concluded it's August Meeting and a few thing of interest came from it. 1. The HMT Board has approved using individual names for trails instead of just numbers. I'm meeting with the the end of the month to finalize the names. 2. Updated Maps are out with...

You know it's funny you mention that because I was on the phone last night with a WV Senator from the 6th District named Mark Maynard. I worked with him on a Senate Subcommittee last year and I'm working with him now on 8k acres of State Forest near Huntington that he is trying to talk the...
