    some state laws and wheeling

I understand your concern. I have personally went after people on my land, and my neighbors land with shotgun in hand. I could not however justify raising it at them, or shooting at them unless I was in immenent danger myself. I didn't have it for threatening them. I had it as insurance if they...

    some state laws and wheeling

Mmmmm............ok. You can spin it that way if you wish. Or perhaps you could look at it from the perspective that when u enter private land the land owner has no idea what your intentions are. Maybe you just decided to trespass, maybe you are looking to steal, perhaps vandalism, get lucky...

    some state laws and wheeling

An interesting read, to say the least. I would suggest that landowners should weigh in on this issue. Anybody with under say.......15 ? acres need not apply. When you get to larger tracts of land, you lose the ability to visually "patrol" the happenings on your property. For most, you also...

    Unofficial DNR/Reiter Rocky Buggy

BTW, got a beef/pork plant around ? They use allot of uhmw on their cut tables, they replace it pretty often from the nicks. You can get if for free most of the time. It also makes great sliders for a skid plate.

Let me look in the bone yard, I may have a few from a line skidder I cut up a few years ago. They are big though. U can make them easy from uhmw sheet and bolts. Nothing fancy, but they work allot better than u would think.

I'll include a pic of a 517 A shoe ? You know those sno-cones they use on dogs so they cannot lick ? Same thing, just thicker. Hole in it for your cable, slide it up and out of the way, set the choker, let the shoe fall and just you pulling it will pull the log into the shoe. They are normally...

    Unofficial DNR/Reiter Rocky Buggy

I am not trying to advocate going with a 1" plate "buggy", if you are, just get a 517 up there and be done with it. Just be safe. A thought, just a thought, think about running a shoe. The log slides much easier, spins less and little to no ground interuption, it cannot dig in. Done right...

See above from Pat. My feelings exactly. Not only have I moved them, I fix it after they destroy it. Everyday, but wait, that is what my business does. As he said, I'll crawl back in my hole now. Good luck with that.

You have my support in what you are doing, but I weld so many parts of skidders back together that I would recommend looking a USED line skidder over. Look at the weak spots, look at the repairs, but truly, look at how they are built. They are heavy, winches are hydraulic, 5/8 line, or bigger...
