A "Im bored with my CJ build" build

oh ok yeah that makes a big difference. the 2.5l does OK, but definitely leaves something to be desired. the jeep does better at 70+ due it being slightly more in the power band. im thinking next on the list for upgrades is some kind of 4:1 if not 7:1 t-case. Im keeping a eye out for...

Ha! that is funny, same rig different color! its your rigs dark side... are you happy with the 4.88s? I was hoping the 5.43s would make up for the small motor but it still will barely do 60 in 5th.

A "Im bored with my CJ build" build

all said and done it drives very well. with the 1/2 ton axles, 5.43 gears/ ford steering box it stops/accels/ and turns as good as it did on 31s. I ended up only moving the rear axle 1" backwards before it rubs too bad. and even then i can see that it scuffs the tank skid. but heres some...

A "Im bored with my CJ build" build

So rather than moving the axle back to stock WB, I got to thinking about the old steering box off of my old bronco sitting on the shelf. the Pro's of it are its a good bit larger, in better shape, and sticks the pitman arm forward like the astro boxes. on my yj frame there was totally tons...

A "Im bored with my CJ build" build

Ok so I needed a break from my other build to slap something together to take care of my wheeling itch. My wife used to drive a stock 95 YJ with a 2.5 low output and 250K on it. I had since bought her a ZJ so this was a extra vehicle I used to commute when I didnt feel like driving my...

thanks guys :awesomework: one last thing, how close is too close for between the top of the leafs and the tie-rod? it seems like it really doesnt need much, but non the less i tacked my perches on tonight with it all bolted up and the top of my knuckles where the tie-rod will bolt up is actually...

    shackle angle/steering clearance (SUA YJ)

haha yeah the maple log might not be OSHA approved. the log isnt supporting the weight at all in the photos. after lots of googling and seeing the shackle angle alot of other YJs look like in mock up im hoping it might settle out some. haha even the wife just said hey why dont ya put one...

    shackle angle/steering clearance (SUA YJ)

so i hate to admit it, but i miss wheeling enough to push my CJ project off to the side and am attempting to slap together a decent wheeler out of my wife and I extra 95 YJ that we have had. up till now it was a bone stock YJ with 250k on her 2.5l of monster squirrels under the hood. the...

    203 degree thermostat for powerstroke

for what its worth my powerpoke likes its 203 stat. and the only danger to running ELC coolant is the injector cups seals are not supposed to be compatible with the different chemicals in ELC based coolants. that being said there are many running it and seem to be fine. when i went through...

just put how many ounces inovative balancing tells ya to by there chart, they have that stuff down to a science, and has worked great for me and a few buddies. im running the .02 gram airsoft bbs but the regular BBs work fine also. have yet seen a issue from the steel ones.
