Brian I got a co-worker looking to get some TIG welding done on his exhaust on his Superduty. I couldn't remember if you had a TIG machine or not.

I figured it out finally. I bought a HF knockoff "Rotozip" style rotary drill/saw and used it to cut "S" shape cuts in each insert. I slightly coiled the PVC and then with some elbow grease I was able to finagle each one out. That is a dangerous tool used in the confines of a tire...
I am in the process of dismounting my 37x12.5.x16.5 Wrangler MT's and swapping over to 36x12.5.16.5 Wrangler RTII's and I have PVC inserts in my tires. I can't figure out how to get them out of the tire? I looked online and I found instructions on how to remove the rubber runflats (don't apply)...
sounds like thrust washers on passenger side are missing not allowing enough preload so the teeth are just grinding against each other instead of grabbing. I have installed my V6 Lock rights a couple times but they are different than the 4 cyl ones. I have also had mine fail but I installed new...
I am thinking of a complete rebuild as it had 132K miles on it and felt pretty beat up when I got it. As much work as it would be to pull it all out I think it would be best to get it done right.
Cool, thanks. I will call him when I get back stateside. My R151F is kinda loose and drops out of 1st sometimes. Marlin Crawler wants beaucoup bucks to rebuild it. ($1700)
I'd run it. I used to run a Taurus electric fan in my truck when it had the 3.0V6 and it had less than a 1/4" clearance (I also ground down the waterpump pulley studs) and ran it for years like that.
Nice! I can't wait until I get back and can go beat on my rig once again. I will have a cage and a flatbed and fender bars to protect the front fenders the next time my rig sees the trail.
I guess it depends on what you want to accomplish. With the auto you can get paddle shifters and a lower crawl with a single case. With the standard you have more flexibility for gears. I had a 3.0 with an R150F and had it swapped out for an R151F and dual cases when Crash did the 2RZ swap. I...
37" MTR's but want to get some better tires when I get back. I am thinking some IROCS or more likely SX's. My rig would be doing DD/trail duty until I decide to buy a towrig and trailer (not likely any time soon) cuz I will probably need a trailer that can carry 2 rigs!
I have set of 37" MTR's that I have been running for 5 years now. Still got a lot of tread on them, but I am going to SX's next. Just got the 31" LTB's for Her rig and those are great. But definitely swampers next for my rig.
