    NOVA gas tax appropriation

Senate Bill SB5971 is one of those so called carbon bills. It raises a lot of taxes and fees, but regardless of how you feel about the other segments of this legislation, the one thing that ORV enthusiasts should consider is the six cents a gallon increase in the motor vehicle fuel tax. What...

    NOVA gas tax appropriation

The Washington State Legislature will probably be increasing your gas taxes. If/when that happens it will be important to make sure the nonhighway and offroad vehicle activities (NOVA) account appropriation portion of the tax increase is adjusted accordingly so we get our fair share. Ask your...

    Reiter Parking..

Not part of any budget legislation introduced so far. That said, the DNR could be requesting that budget language be added that re-appropriates some of our existing NOVA funds to a specific project. Any request for fresh money (as opposed to just re-directing what we already have) is a...

NOVA FUNDS HELD HOSTAGE Your Nonhighway and Offroad Vehicle Activities appropriation for the next two years did not happen during the 2017 legislative sessions. This is the money collected from your ORV permit purchases and from the offroad portion of gas tax revenue. Thanks to multi-year...

SB5200 – volunteers Pooling Discover Pass hours

SB5200 has been passed by the House Rules Committee. It now goes to a vote of the full House of Representatives. This is the last step before the Governor’s desk. It would be a shame for this legislation be unanimously passed by the Senate four years in a row only to die in the House every time...

    Pros/cons of ORV tabs?

Thers is a WOHVA person taking part in the study. WOHVA will be involved with providing input. What they do with the input is something that I don't know if the people putting on the study really know at this point. WOHVA and NMA were successful at getting the DNR share of the D-pass money...

    WA DoL drama

If you have a dual registered vehicle (ORV and street plates), be aware that the DoL has implemented a new computer system. It appears as though every dual registered vehicle has had either one or both of their registrations canceled erroneously. I was unable to renew one of my bikes on line...

    Pros/cons of ORV tabs?

That is the frustrating dilemma. Follow the letter of the law and risk getting cited and have to go to court to prove that the DNR wrongly wrote you up. Or throw money toward the government and get little in return other than the hope that they won't illegally hassle you.
