Well, I took out the speed sensor, cleaned it up (the electrical connection was pretty clean & well connected, but the mechanism it engages to inside the tranny was a bit dirty), and no difference. Still nothing. So I'm thinknig I need to spend 60-80 bucks on a new speed sensor....

Awesome! (well, not awesome that you had to go through the same thing...) I've got some dielectric in the shop. I've extremely familiar with the speed sensor in the jeep, as well as the rest of the transfer case, but the Dodge is new territory. I will banish Jeff from anywhere near the thing...

Oooh oooh oooh, I will check the speedo cable this weekend. This also happened right when it got BUTT-cold down here. (like, hard freezes overnight)

Yeah, that's why I was thinking "speed sensor" - speedo & cruise... but the cruise control always worked before, and now it won't shift into that final gear. I was also questioning if it may be the torque converter... Now, I've also got the extra gauges - RPM, exhaust temp, & tranny temp. I...

Gadwd dammitt, that fukin' Dodge!!!! So, I thought I'd run this by you folks - The setting: 92 1 ton (last year of the first gen CTD) auto tranny with "110k" miles on it, but that's BS because the speedo sometimes was working, sometimes not - so there could be a few thousand more miles on...

We ended up going with Rotella with a factory filter. Didn't want to deal with finding the "old" vs "new" Delo, too easy to just run to Wallyworld & get a big jug of Rotella. That truck was in desparate need of a change. Nasty. :puke:

So why are folks switching away from the new stuff? Why will you switch?

OK, what do you all run for oil in your deisels? Rotella? In case you missed it, we got the '92 1st gen CTD & we really need to do an oil change. Something special for turbo deisels?

Ok, so we had our maiden voyage trailering the Jeep. On the way home we were using the Pac Brake, & it decided it didn't want to turn off. At all. Like, even when we flipped the switch off, the fawker was still goin'. So we pull over, turn the truck off. Turn the truck back on, the damn...

Hmmmm.... I paid 5800 doughnuts for my "POS" '92 one ton dually 1st gen CTD with 107k miles on it. It'll pull nicely for another 200k miles, at least. :D

I was just looking through the records on this '92 I just got... the guy replaced the BD with a Pac brake, & went with the HD exhaust valve springs for the 60psi back pressure. :cheer: I also found the invoice for the airbag suspension:redneck: :redneck: So I take it, I can be flying down...
