    22r motor Rebuild vs Purchase

Well after much thought, I decided to rebuild the 22R myself. At least that way I know how it was done and who to blame. After breaking down the motor, it was a complete mess. I found 4 inches of timing chain in the oil pan as well as about 2 inches of debris. All parts were so dirty and...

    22r motor Rebuild vs Purchase

Good point. The warranty is nice to have. However, if you go with an Oregon reman, you have to ship it back to them for any warranty work. From Alabama to Oregon, I'd go broke if I had problems.

What's the best way to determine gear ratio in axles?

Hello all, I recently acquired a 1984 4 Runner. The seller advised that 4.88 gears were installed in the axles. With 31's, I figured it would be much different from the stock 4.10 which I have driven. What is the best way to check this? No stamp or color code that I can find. I researched...
