Evans conditions?

If you scroll down there is a thread from the 2nd I think. The snow up at Evans is very deep right now. Apparently you can spend all day just getting up to the lower parking lot from the paved road.:haha:

Yeah, I saw that one, I was just wondering if anybody had been up since then, since the weather had warmed up a bit. I went up yesterday, and it wasn't too bad, just played around on the road a bit trying to get up there, but turned around before the lower entrance. It was more of a pain getting past all the stuck people than it was getting through the snow itself.

Right on. Though the weather has been better it still stays cold up there over night. If anything the snow might have solidified a bit by now.

We opened up the lower 311 today & came out through the campground...still lots of snow up there :D

Where's the pics of the trail???

Just look at the pics I posted & pretend you don't see the bathrooms...looked a lot like that. I would recommend bringing a saw with you...we cut out lots of downed trees & drove over/under a bunch more.

The snow was fairly old & started to pack well in the afternoon...once the sun went down, it all turned to sugar & it was difficult to stay on top.

The road going up was broke...we picked up a guy walking down the main road. His Subaru Outback LL Bean edition was broadside in the road, about a mile up the road...he was walking out for help :haha: Coming back down we noticed that lots of the snow had melted off...made for a wet & muddy drive back to the tow rig :D
