Took a spin up the Carbon River today through Orting, South Praire, Wilkeson, Etc. South Praire Creek did a lot of damage along SR 162 outside of Orting. (No pics of these areas as the News has showed most of them)

There was one good slide just after the Fairfax bridge (1st and 2nd pic). This is in between the bridge and the "Y" where you hang a right to head up to Evans Creek.

There is a completely new creek coming down the hill from Evans onto the Fairfax Forest Reserve Road (the road that heads to the National Park/Carbon Glacier). (3rd, 4th, & 5th pic).

The second large slide is further up the Forest Reserve Road. This one happened just before Tolmie Creek. As some of you know, Tolmie Creek is basically the back way in to Evans Creek.

There is a very large washout just prior to the Park Entrance the County was working on before the snow and floods hit.

For the past 2 days, they have been working the slides on the Forest Reserve road just to get back to the main washout where their equipment is.

The following pics are of the Tolmie Creek slide. A tile under the road got plugged up and everything came down over the top of the road. The first 2 pics are of where the road should be. The 3rd pic shows where the slide came down the hill. The 4th pic shows the giant hole where the tile is. The last pic is just another view of the material that came down.

Would have been cool to see before they started hauling stuff away:awesomework:

There are no residences past this point...just the Ranger Station at Isput Creek.

In your first set of pics, the fifth one of the creek running looks like it would make a great trail. So who do you have to contact?
