Just wondering if anyone has an open spot on there trailer for a 3800lbs buggy? I live in the Arlington area, so if your close that would help. Let me know what you got and what you want.

Its gonna have to be a sweet deal for me to even think about hauling both buggies down to the hammers. That means double the fuel, double the broken ****, double the baby sitting, and double the prep work.

I still would like to know if anyone has an offer out there. :cheer:

And for you too Marc :fawkdancesmiley: Hope you **** your pants :D

I have a 24 foot deckover trailer.

I have a lightweight toyota buggy.

If you can tow my toyota on my trailer behind your rig you can stack another rig on it too.

I also have a nice 8 foot slide in camper I can share with someone if they haul it down and back too.
I cant tow my yota myself but will loan my trailer if it has my rig on it.

My truck would get 1.5 mpg gallon towing double on that :haha:

I would put my fatass jeep on the front with the windshield down...I have had a couple deck overs before
Bet I could get better than 10mpg

isn't Cali one of those states that you can only go 55mph when towing?

Yes, No more than 10,000lb trailer weight too.
Same for WA as well, however (thankfully) rarely enforced.

Anything 10K and above, REGARDLESS of whats on it or what your towing it with you need a CDL Class A for Washington State, I think Oregon and CA. And the BS that comes with a Class A. There are some exceptions for large travel-trailers, but and open deck trailer, nope.

I've also heard* (*you can do your own research) that if your TRUCK is a flat-bed truck, regardless of size, its considered a Commercial Vehicle in CA they they expect to see a all the Commercial DOT tags etc.

Technically, as well, if your rig is sponsored, and your going to COMPETE in KOH, you're now "for profit" and a commercial carrier, so you have to meet to commercial regs and (probably) stop at the scales. Again, you may or may not get hassled, but since KOH is a known, high-profile event, CHP *may* be on the extra look out. The suggestion there was to take the skins off on the trip, or cover them up or something.

This is hear-say based on what I read after last years KOH and some of the hassling spectators and competitors got. Others had no issues. Take it for what its worth, I'd hate to see CHP, or even OSP or WSP be money-hungry a-holes just cause they know a big event is going on.

Wish I was going.... wish I had a running rig together to go with :booo:

My situation is a little different. I am hauling my buggy down in my trailer that can only hold 1 rig. I was trying to see if anyone was going down that had a 2 place trailer but only 1 rig. I would be interested in paying (if not too much) to haul my other rig down. :awesomework:

The gross weight in the case of any motor truck, tractor, or truck tractor shall be the scale weight of the motor truck, tractor, or truck tractor, plus the scale weight of any trailer, semitrailer, converter gear, or pole trailer to be towed thereby, to which shall be added the weight of the maximum load to be carried thereon or towed thereby as set by the licensee in the application if it does not exceed the weight limitations prescribed by chapter 46.44 RCW. If the sum of the scale weight and maximum load of the trailer is not greater than four thousand pounds, that sum shall not be computed as part of the gross weight of any motor truck, tractor, or truck tractor. Where the trailer is a utility trailer, travel trailer, horse trailer, or boat trailer, for the personal use of the owner of the truck, tractor, or truck tractor, and not for sale or commercial purposes, the gross weight of such trailer and its load shall not be computed as part of the gross weight of any motor truck, tractor, or truck tractor. The weight of any camper is exempt from the determination of gross weight in the computation of any licensing fees required under RCW 46.16.070.

Any person violating any of the provisions of RCW 46.16.140 shall, upon a first offense, pay a penalty of not less than twenty-five dollars nor more than fifty dollars; upon a second offense pay a penalty of not less than fifty dollars nor more than one hundred dollars, and in addition the court may suspend the certificate of license registration of the vehicle for not more than thirty days; upon a third and subsequent offense pay a penalty of not less than one hundred dollars nor more than two hundred dollars, and in addition the court shall suspend the certificate of license registration of the vehicle for not less than thirty days nor more than ninety days.

Yup, looks like WA too.

With this caveat.

The law says so, but here is the summation.

You must have a commercial driver license (CDL) to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • All single vehicles with a manufacturer

Which rig are you planning to drive as your "main"? Yours or that crazy Laquisha brown thing?
