Mounting "orbital" valve

Mocking up my fist tube frame buggy. Like the ideal of using a 10 inch shaft directly mounted with the valve for simplicity. Are there any draw backs? I'm not a 100% sure it will be lower than res. It would also put valve under the dash, so I could put a shield on it, in case a hose blows. Besides longer hose and air bubbles any thing I should consider? Anyone local to bham sell steering shafts?

Doesnt matter about the orbital being lower than the res. Just the pump. Mount valve with the fittings up to help with bleeding the air out.
