Help! Anyone ever used these tires on DD/Tow rig??

X2 on nutting up, just close your eyes cuz it burns, but yeah I agree michelins if you got the extra coin.

I run Nitto DURA grappler highway treads on my 2500. 285/75/17 On my second set. I drive all over town for work and haul with them every trip. I get 45k on a set with frequent rotation, no joke every oil change. I hate road noise and have zero complaints with these tires.

Dura Grapplers absolutely suck unless you are gonna drive only interstate! Them dudes get ZERO traction on wet grass :****:

I ran them on my 2500 for about 2 months and they gone!

I used to think the same, but I got the same mileage from a set of Goodyear duratracs that I did from a set of michelins... 70k

Gonna try some Bridgestone revos next...

Be surprised just how much rotating and monitoring air pressure will do for a set of tires in terms of longevity. OP mentions burning up Trail Grapplers, how many miles were you getting out of Trail Grapplers. No reason you shouldn't be getting 40-50k miles out of them in a 10 ply on a 3/4 ton. Unless like you said, you aren't rotating them and probably not checking psi? If you don't keep them rotated, might as well close your eyes and say give me the cheapest shittiest set available, because they all gonna wear out quick that way!

Yea I'm slack ass when it comes to rotating. Im gonna stay on that from now on. My read tires always get flat and the front end up wavey and Fawked up. And i doubt I'm gonna nut up and get michellens, I can't imagine how much they are, I remember being in high school my dad having them, God they were ugly, also remember him saying they were the best tire made. Ha. I HATE buying tires. Gonna start looking for a deal on some used ones. And probably end up doing what I do every time, buying a new set when mine look scary. I'll run them bitches till everyone that sees my truck says "dam u need tires!" :****:

Just spent 2k on tires you might ride on 20 times a year and gonna birch about the cost of a good set of tires that you ride on everyday :gay: Michelin' s will never win a :tc contest, but when the :tc swinger tires are worn out for the 2nd time, the Michelin' s might be close to 3/4 if that. Your money, spend it how you want.

How many miles are on your truck? How many front end parts have you replaced? Wavy tires sounds more like worn out parts than whatever tire you put on it. And X2 on getting an alignment. That will eat up a set of tires just as quickly.

220k on truck. Had to replace wheel bearings, axles, think that was it. Just rotated them this morning actually, noticed a **** ton of grease slung out if axle boot, FAWK! Cleaned it good, shot grease in it with needle tip, and rtv'd that bitch. If it ain't bed bugs it's piss ants I tell ya

Anyone else have duramax and tires rub A arm?? Just wondering. Never had it happen on any other of my trucks. :dunno:

Re: Re: Help! Anyone ever used these tires on DD/Tow rig??

Looked at my tires today and calculated mileage. Right at 19k miles with normal rotation. I figure I'll get at least 30-35k out of them. Not terrible for a $1000 set of cheapo m/t's. Still balanced fairly well too.

**** this is 64k on a $1400 set of Goodyear Duratracs on a CCSB Duramax.

I think I'll spend 40% more and get 100+% more tread life

They also aren't a full m/t with large voids in the tread pattern like mine, apples to oranges. But yes, you always get what you pay for.

Re:

We just put a set of 35 trail grapplers on my brothers truck and they're tits. I kept telling him about all the noise and vibration you get with mud tares. Put them on and drove it and I'll be damned if they didn't ride like a set of well mannered AT's. I know what I'll be buying next after that.

I only posted pics of my tires for informative reasons. Not comparing them to any of the major m/t's that you know you can get a shitload of miles out of. Just more like a review.

But yeah, Nittos or Toyos will probably be what I buy next. Had several friends have good luck out of both.

I thought I had already posted here but apparently not. Ill post up some pics of my Cooper STT's tomorrow. 315/75R16's on a 4 door F250. They are wearing AWESOME. Very similar to the Nitto Trail Grapplers. 7500 miles on them, haven't rotated yet, and if I could glue nipples back on em I could pass em off as new.

True, true, mine are what I call "poser mud tires"...

"Agressive " molaugh look with A/T performance. They are better than the michelins I had that would get stuck in wet grass.

My next tires will be some old man firestone destination at...
