I'm looking into a single ended ram to do hydro assist on my heep. And yes I know full is better but I'm on a budget. What exactly should I be looking for in a ram? I have one I got from a buddy that's 8" Lion with the rods running down the sides but it's a little big for the space I have without redoing the whole front end. What's out there that's narrower, maybe without the rods, and possibly shorter, this one has a good 6" or more sticking out fully compressed. I haven't measured yet but I've been told to get a 8" stroke. I looked on surplus center but have no idea what I'm looking at. Thanks

I just used a 1.5 x 8" from surplus for the hydro assist on the street cherokee. I had to cut off the eyelet and re-weld it so it was facing the way I wanted. Axle is a 79 f250 Dana 44.

I believe this is the one I'm running on my setup
