I mounted a winch on the front of my buggy. I am wondering if anyone runs their synthetic line just letting it roll over the round tube work or is it just best to figure a way to get an aluminum guide plate up there.

I'm sure some people do it. When I bought my chassis I noticed that 2 of the short pieces of tubing between the upper and lower frame tubes in the front were just tacked in. He said it was so I could either spread them and mount a fairlead or move them closer together to just run the line through them. 2 things I've been thinking about in regards to that is the line will likely wear through the paint or powder coat and rust, also the welds would need to be ground smooth and practically polished to keep the line in good shape.

Save a hawse....., mash yer motor!
Just don't winch.

I have not ever used it. But I like to have it for recovery of other rigs. I'm sure I'll need it someday for myself too but either way it just sits mostly.

I suppose I'll throw some tabs up there and haws it up

I agree. I've owned a winch for 6 years. Been on two rigs. I think I've pulled it out 4 times. Always good to know you got it when you need it.

Like your not paying attention and back into a giant rut.
