STL - SRRS Race 1 - March 11-12, 2016

We cut a whole bunch of trees off from the spectator area in front and on the sides of one of the hills. Not allowed to post pictures yet, but I do think I found a spot to put in a couch for my wife, Bobby's wife and the kiddos :****:

Just some pictures of the clean up. Filling a pretty big hole with a ton of trees and brush.

Yes sir. Let me know if you have any questions about it.

A harness with a bypass cap is also available for the people that are borrowing one from a friend. We also offer a 7 race season entry for $350 until the end of Jan. for everyone that purchased the box to offset the cost of the box. We have a lot of benefits for the season entries including some new stuff with the National Rock Racing Association, Driver Siganture Series shirts, and some other things that will be available soon. Lots of really exciting stuff happening for our little sport.

Here's the options for season entry and RII options.

A buddy and I are heading up the Wednesday before the race to help with prep, last minute junk and unforeseen issues. We are helping with prep for the race in the upcoming weeks and hope to help Stony Lonesome and SRRS have a successful relationship and awesome first race of the season.

I am not 100% on what hills they are racing, but we are going to start clearing out parking for all the good hills and work on spectator areas for them too. Youtube hill, Who's Your Daddy and Hello Kitty are the ones that get my vote.....too bad they didn't take a vote

I think you're in the right direction. ;D

Just over a month out. Work will be ongoing for parking, spectating and I am personally going to cut in two more hills for this event. They are to the left on trail 418B. It is one of my favorite parts of the park and I just feel that they need to be there to take advantage of the traffic that will be in the park on the race weekend. Anyone wanting to volunteer any time......This coming Saturday (13th)and next Saturday(20th), there will be groups with chain saws, hedge trimmers and snips out making the viewing area second to none. I cannot commit to the other two Saturdays, but I am sure Tyler can chime in if they will be working. I will be at the park the Wednesday before the race up until the day after. Gonna help with last minute prep, recovery, filming, crowd control, clean up and anything else that might come up. Feel free to come out and support the park for the event or with any volunteer work you can help with.

If there is anyone that will be heading to the park not interested in watching the event, make sure to ask for a list of trails to hit and/or turn by turn directions to get to them. I will ask Bobby to help with the turn by turn directions and Tyler should already have a highlighted map with trail names listed. The list Bobby will be making is what we ride. He is in a YJ on 44's locked at both ends and I have a Samurai on 39 Red labels locked too. Most have bypasses, but plan accordingly.

Feel free to PM me with any questions, concerns, thoughts, etc. Tyler at Stony doesn't live on here like I do, but I can forward anything that I can't answer to him.

Thank you for the help. I'll see you the Wednesday before to start getting things ready.

Yes sir. One of my buddies will be there too. We are good for about 8-10 hours a day, as long as Bobby gets time to eat. I am really excited for the race and the park.

I know Tyler is really putting his heart and soul into this ride, along with his staff members. I know they are having meetings to get organized and have been thinking outside of the box. I do give them all the credit, they do 99% of the work. Bobby and I just kinda come in and help when we can and try to add a little extra energy on work days to keep them pumped up to achieve their goals.

Just cleared it with the wife....I'll be there Saturday with my 2 trusty Stihl saws even though the high temp is forecasted to be 39°. Hoping cullman county buys the 290 acre tract across the highway for more cabins & parking! Tyler and the staff put on a great event saturday and even better job of getting people in the park quickly.

That would be great and dust free. If they also put out power poles for battery chargers, the fishermen from Smith Lake would help keep them full as well. Be a great extension to the park.

Re:

Dust free does sound good. I heard one of the hills for this race was announced. (Obviously we knew what it was to get it prepped) Any word on the other? I'm not spilling any beans, just seeing if its out yet. We are working on a new hill next to the race hill and a parking lot or three around the hill to accommodate all the RZRs. I don't expect many crawlers to be out for this race being a RZR park and all.

Re:

I have no input here but I know the park will be stupid packed for this event probly worse than the rzr race couple weeks ago..

The signing in to the park took forever and we got there kinda earlyish. I was just going to possibly suggest paying/checking in entering the park like hpo or some of the other parks.. may make things flow easier

I love the suggestions. Only way to make any park better. Tyler told me some of the things they were doing to help with traffic flow and getting folks checked in. As soon as they roll out the finished changes, I will post here and on the Facebook. Keep any other thoughts coming.

Re:

Our lawyer agreed to letting up to 20 people sign a single waiver...that'll help. The parking is on my agenda today from Tyler

To keep from backing everyone out onto Al. Hwy 69, I am going to have everyone park, then you will be required to check in at the office. We will have plenty of personnel guiding folks to parking areas, separate parking areas for folks dry camping in Rv's, and designate areas just for 35 ft trailors or longer. We will contact anyone who made reservations in our campground a couple of days prior to the event to let them know which cabin, modular site, or Rv site they will be staying in so they can go directly there, unload their machine, then, check in at the office. This will keep the park organized and keep folks from waiting in line all day. Any suggestions would be great. Park will open at 6 A.M. :dblthumb:
