Link bars?

I have a rockwell rig with the lower links triangulated. So when I drag my rear over something it tends to hit the links at an angle. I made this set out of 1/4 2x2.
Anyone that knows me, knows I am budget minded but I could redo lowers and keep the current ones as spares.
So any suggestions on material?

Seems like every season i was bending my 2"x.25" square lowers. I upgraded them to 2.25"x3/8" DOM and so far so good after 5 trips this year so far. Mine are 40" long for reference. How long are yours?

Since I changed my dads lowers to 2-1/2" 7075 we haven't bent anymore! It had 2-1/4" 3/8's wall Dom before and all the lowers were bent!

7075 and be done. I just ordered a full set from WOD last week, they're supposed to be here Monday. Sure they're a little more up front, but buy them once and be done.

I used 2x3 5/16 wall and it would have been perfect but I put speed holes in it trying to look cool. One link bent right at a hole the first trip out. Replaced it and no problems since

Re:

Bent all 4- 2.5"x0.375 DOM lowers.

Went to 2.25"x0.250 wall with 1.75" 7075 solid inside. Been great so far

Looked at chromoly and alum links. Wanted a bombproof setup and wasnt sold on them.

I started out with all of my links made out of 2"x.250". Bent the rear lowers pretty quickly.

Redid the rear lowers out of 2.5"x.5" and it's been good.

5k lb Rockwell buggy.

So I'm trying to wrap my head around this set up. The 7075, is the material that has a memory to it, correct?
Did you weld your bung into the Dom?
It's an interesting ideal for sure.

Meh, I think we are kinda programmed the same when it comes to spending a **** load of money on something when we think can make wat we have work. Haha I know for me , I'm still learning that it's much smarter to bite the bullet and spend the money. But I always have to learn the hard way.

Turn 'em over

Mine roll... I have heims on the end of my 2" .25 square links and the jam nuts are tacked but the links still roll and flop around. Mine are 36" long or something. I don't want to weld the damn jam nut to the bung. Mine both have a 3/16-1/4" gap in the middle if you put a level across it.
