Because of the extended snowmobile season in the cascades that prevented us from our annual assault on Darland Mountain, we are going to head up there again on an attempt to summit on April 30.

7:30 AM DEPARTURE from the Shell Station at the Queensgate exit by the Walmart in Richland. Prosser exit 80 ramp low level fly by at 7:50 and for the Yakima crowd. . .we'll see you at the Ahtanum gas station (on the right just before you leave town, Shell I think) at 8:45 or Maybe 9. CB Channel 12.

This run will be EPIC. . .DEEP SNOW. . .Clear skys. . .Something for everyone. If you want to come from OR or the West side of WA, let me know. Easy drive over Satus Pass for the OR crowd and you could swing by and pick up Dude to ride shotty.

we are going to be video taping, photographing and GPSing the whole run so wash yer rig ya big friggin' slobs and bring the skinny.

Recommended equpiment:

Breaking Trail: Light rig and/or lots of power on 37" or bigger beadlocked tires, two lockers. Right now, I have. . .let's see. ..BoyScout and Roman breaking trail with me pushing from behind (ewww ..gross).
Back of the pack: Normal rig on 33" with at least a limited. 35" and open would be marginal, but Toby can't go anyway. If you bring a full size truck, it better be on 44s with beadlocks at 0PSI.

Everyone: Sense of humor and a get out of Jail free card from the wife/spouse. . .we could be home a little late.

Swimwear optional. Post up if you are IN.

OG thanks for the invite, but I will most likely have to pass on this run. We were at the WUD Cabin this last weekend and we have to many projects to do a day run. I don't think I will have my trail rig there because I need my pickup there to haul some stuff. Stop by the WUD Cabin if you have the time. There will be a WUD sign out front by the road.

We'll at least give a honk and a "wheeler's salute" on the way by. There might be a few camping at the snow park on Saturday night if you want to come by and check out the camp fire.

We might just come by the Sno-park after dark on Saturday. I was hoping to have my trail rig up at the cabin for some night wheelin but I don't know if there will be a place to park the trailer. We still don't know what kind of turn out we will have for the cabin clean-up. I wouldn't want to take up parking spaces that volunteers clean-up people could use. They have enough excuses not to help out. :D

Been up to Darland plenty during the summer months, but not as a snow run.

How are you guys getting up there, by way of the fire roads? I have always accessed the area off of the 1000 road, then by way of various Rimrock trails.

I'm curious, but I'm not sure I can go.

Ben is 100% accurate. If the snow is fast, we might even screw around on some of the trails on the east side of the ridge. If a couple of weeks ago was any indication of the conditions, it won't be fast. . .just deep and heavy.

With any luck.........it should look something like this....:D

I wish you were going a couple weeks later  My jeep is scattered in the driveway, I'm about two weeks behind schedule. Memorial day, myself and 3 or 4 friends with jeeps in the tri cities area are going up to skyline in the blues. If you get any other runs going this summer keep me posted.

We seen a lot of rigs going past the cabin this weekend. Yeti forgot the WUD sign in his trail rig at home so we couldn't put it out front. I hope you had a good time. The weekend sure was nice at the Ahtanum.

It was Glorious. . .Just plane perfect on Sunday. . .*wipes tear from eye*

Wheelin' on top of the World. Somebody prolly has some pics. . .I didn't bring a camera.
