    43 stickies vs 60 strength?

I'm running 40" irok stickies and everyone else in the group is on 40" reds. No issues for any of us. My buggy has only been on a few trips so far but pretty much all the rest of the guys have had theirs for several years.

    43 stickies vs 60 strength?

Myself and several buddies run 40" stickies on built Toyota axles with great success. However we're all around 3k pounds, 4 bangers and automatics. Plus we're much more into slow, technical crawling. All that to say, it really depends on your driving style that makes the biggest difference...

    Is anyone actually riding?

We've stayed in the Ponderosa both times that I've been. It's a 5 bedroom 4 bathroom cabin. It's very nice, full kitchen, large front and back porch, plenty of parking out front for tow rigs and buggies. I have heard nothing but good things about any of the cabins there. I think there are...

    Is anyone actually riding?

Group of us just rode Good Evening Ranch this weekend. Had a great time and the new buggy was amazing. I'll try to post some pics/videos

What battery do y'all use in your rig?

Just bought a Die Hard AGM for my buggy from Advance Auto. Wanted a battery that could be easily exchanged/warrantied when I was on a wheeling trip since there is usually an Advance Auto at least relatively close by.

    Show off your trailer

@ridered3 100% agree with you on the deals on 40+ foot enclosed goosenecks with living quarters, especially pre-COVID, but even in today's market the longer ones are a better deal price-wise. Like you though, I want the maneuverability of the shorter trailer. I think something 28-32 foot would...

    Show off your trailer

@ridered3 can you post some pics of the living quarters? Curious of the layout and how much room you have. I'm looking for a "smaller" gooseneck enclosed to setup like yours.

    I’m new and have questions!

What suspension setup does it have? Leaf springs, linked? Definitely get more info on axles, gears, t-case, suspension, etc. 29" belly is a freaking monster truck. My buggy is around 18" belly at ride height on 40's with 106" wheel base.

    Engine swap...options

What about buying a wrecked XJ and swapping over the 4.0/aw4/231? Would be a cheap upgrade over the 2.5, still have great reliability and not overstress your current axles. Weight would be a downside though for sure.

    Trail Comms?

Our group has a few of those Baofeng radios from Amazon. Think they are around $50 with the charger and some extra stuff. Doesn't help with comms between driver and passenger inside a loud buggy though. We all have 4-banger weepow buggies so not an issue for us.

    Kid crawler

I've got a complete rear axle assembly from a 99 Tracker and pretty sure I still have one, maybe even 2 front axles from a 99 Tracker. Free if you come pick them up but I'm in central NC so not sure it's worth the drive.

$5K Budget Build XJ or ZJ?

Definitely an XJ. Skip the longarm setup and just piece together a cheap 4" short arm lift buying used parts, trim the fenders and run some 33's. Toss a lunchbox locker in the front and weld the 8.25 rear. Build it for way less than $5k, can probably build 2 fun, capable XJ's for $5k.

    Kids 4wheeler?

Honda TRX 90 or Suzuki LT 80. Both are super reliable and if you pay a reasonable price for one, you'll pretty much get your money back when you resell it if it's decent condition. Just don't go buy a new one or you'll lose money. Absolutely stay away from the Chinese junk, they are extremely...

    Pics of your shops/garages/specs

Cleaned and reorganized my shop last weekend. Still more to do but it's the best it's been in a long time. Few more things to move out eventually and need to get some more LED lights.

R/C Crawler for 7 yr old... Recommendations

Losi Nightcrawler if you want a true crawler. Axial scx-10 if you want a more do-it-all kind of truck. If he just wants something to bash around the yard, Traxxas Slash is hands down the toughest RC car out. Every hobby shop carries parts for them and they have plenty of upgrades for them so it...

    Opinions on LASIK eye surgery?

I had it done about 12 years ago, still doing fine and no need for glasses/contacts yet. I'm sure I'll eventually need them but so far so good. Definitely don't regret doing the procedure, had crappy eyesight since I was a kid and was tired of dealing with contacts/glasses. I was 20/15 about a...

Why not build her a separate storage building for her stuff and have the shop for everything you want? Probably can get a 10x20 storage building then 30x40 shop for less than or similar money as the 40x40.

    Gas tow diggers

Just picked up a 2016 GMC 3500HD 4x4 with the 6.0/6L90 last night. Looking forward to hooking up the trailer and see how she does. Feels stronger than my 02 2500 Suburban with the 8.1, at least empty.
