It has full hydro steering so it should be trailered most places. I still drive it on the road, but not far. It won't go any faster than 55... maybe 60 due to gearing and power.
I was given an AW4 out of a '92 2WD Cherokee. It came with the TCM, ECU and wiring. Im thinking about putting it in my YJ that has an AX15(manual) but i need some parts from a "Donor" trans.
I think i need the t-case adapter housing and the main/output shaft. Does anyone have a junk 4WD-AW4...
I threw those 1/8 tabs on the shelf and made my own out of 1/4. I figured if those were welded on one side like you have that would be too weak, imo. It would probably be fine in double shear with 1/8. Im not saying my setup is correct but it works. TK1 swaydar with 16" travel airshocks. I used...
You probably know this, but depending on how modified the jeep is, like it has a body lift, linkage out of adjustment could cause that. Trans and motor mounts too. If you have taken it apart then you probably know what to look for inside, like the pads on the shift and mode forks.
I live close to Stoney.
The housing won't work, the half you need anyway. Everything else would work. I've repaired some aluminum oil pans that had holes knocked in them and they turned out ok. I could try to fix that one if you want me to.
Do you have any pics of the damage?
I have one, but it has the Tera-low 4:1 kit in it. So the front half is different, which is probably the side you need. The planetary gears are messed up in it, those tera-low kits just didn't hold up to hard use. It still has some salvageable parts in it...
I went with TMI. I went them because of the anti-coning lip. 1/4" outer ring is a must. I would recommend going with a 1/4" inner too, if you over tighten the bolts, or don't tighten evenly, with the 3/16" it will bend. I did that on the first one I mounted but took my time on the other wheels...
