    What wt of oil on tired 22re

    I don't know, it just seems to use quite a bit of oil, but it's been sitting for almost a year so I figure the rings are a little sticky. Think I'll try the 20-50 and see what that dose for it. I just don't want to run too heavy and not get oil to the valve train.

    Thats what I was afraid of. I wonder how long I can keep it running for now though. I don't have the time or money to pull this thing apart right now. Somehow I doubt they are cheap. I wouldn't mind some gt40 iron heads, with an explorer intake it would do ok.

    I bet that's it then. I thought the ports were round on the intake side of the early ones though and square on the later year ones? The 2 heads look the same except for height. It's an 87 block at least.

    I did replace the guides and when I got the truck it had a blown head gasket. I checked the flatness as much as I could and it seemed ok so that's why I'm thinking it may be a crack. The timing chain is the strange part. I just don't understand why it's rubbing right next to the crank. Any ideas?

    Already ran high rpm it was like 1150 or something like that. Took 15 mins and the guy still had to bypass the computer cause it won't idle down. I might take you up on that cat too. I don't know if the one I have is crap or not. Can't verify the age either.

    Got the cap, rotor, wires, and plugs covered. As well as the timing, what about carb adjustments? Could it be running rich or lean? I'll try the air filter as well.

    So I took my toyota in for emissions and it failed on the cruise hydrocarbons part. I think the guy said it was 19 ppm too high. What do I need to look at to fix it? 87 22r carbed.
