Gooseneck hitch extension for short bed truck..

An extension won't help with jackknifing. it will just help you get closer to 90, it's the width of the trailer at the ball that matters, unless the extension is enough of a difference to move the widest part of the trailer past the cab corner.

    Th400 or th350

If you're making changes to put it in anyway, put in the TH350 or a 4L80/85/90. Don't have to get a built trans and then still have to worry about it. if I didn't have to make significant adjustments to my cradle for the oh so slight length change I'd have put a 400 or a 4 speed in after the...

    Best credit report website?

www.annualcreditreport.com is the only one to use, it's the one required by .gov and is free, no bullshit. you get one free per year there from each of the big three (transunion, equifax and whoever the third one is). they don't provide your numeric score but that's not really important to you...

    NV4500 - 5th Gear Nut, Final Fix

I put a RoadRanger 13 speed in mine after my second 5th gear failure. Lots and lots of floor work, and it drove like a big truck. I loved it. My buddy put a Fuller FSO 6 speed in his after his second 5th gear failure. It's the way the truck should have come, and you wouldn't even know it wasn't...

And the winner if worst tire of the year goes to....

or if you have good timing you can pick them up for $325 each with ****ed up sidewall text. but they only have 3. actually I'm pretty sure I've seen "non highway service" Bogger blems for sale pretty frequently - I always assumed they were stickies, but maybe they were just (even more) square...

    Hot weather work pants

After reading of these here, I ordered 3 pair right away too. I got them to be warm weather long pants that look presentable. They say they're teflon coated and they feel exactly like some other pants that have lasted through some garage tasks they did not deserve to as far as staining goes...

    E-85

lower energy density but higher octane. if you build around it and can get it reliably it's a good choice, but if you're not building and tuning to it, it's a waste.

    Selling a truck gone wrong.

He bought it with issues known. No sympathy no matter what those issues ended up being. He got a discount, didn't he? I'd feel much worse, and have a harder time saying no to helping out if the exact same thing had happened, but he'd paid full price, and it had happened a week or even a month...

which dana 60 axle u joints to buy

My buggy has broken several Yukon stubs on forged Spicer joints. Most recently on little 37s driving it like I stole it. I didn't want to drop the coin for RCVs yet so I got CTMs and ECGS USA-made stubs. Damn near half the price of RCVs but it should move the weak point back to the gearset...

    Tellico to re-open???

Only made it there once, in my Dakota on 40s. Wheeled with a great crew of locals while I was in the area for work. Was a GREAT weekend. Most memorable part was coming down guardrail just as it was starting to rain and everything was GOOD and slick. I think I have some pictures from that trip...

Best place to buy an enclosed car hauler? or used one

Friends of mine bought a cheap GA trailer knowing what they were getting into; welds are crap and half done, more importantly it is starting to buckle at the side door after 2 coast to coast trips loaded heavy (10-10.5k in a 10k trailer). They also had to replace axles before returning home from...

    Gauging interest.. NORTH ride

If you think WV is north, I’d suggest Cove Campground in Gore VA where the Big Dogs events are held. About 6k acres there. Tapatalking in traffic

    Gauging interest.. NORTH ride

Re: Gauging interest.. Hardline NORTH ride that rings a bell, Forbidden Zone is how we went in back then. We exited through what I'd heard would now be a power plant site.

    Gauging interest.. NORTH ride

Re: Gauging interest.. Hardline NORTH ride I went to Wellsville 8-10 years ago now, I'd heard that the easy accesses were closed off the next year with a power plant project of some sort going in? It was a pretty good time but seemed really sketchy. Reminded me a LOT of the area around AOAA...

    How long will they go?

'07 6.7 Cummins G56. Bought it at 352k, had been in hotshot service for 2 previous owners. It got a head, turbo, and full delete at ~310k; it had the rearend rebuild just before I bought it. Already had a _really_ noisy Southbend 3750 dual disc clutch. I've owned it for 3 years now. Had a rear...

    Ackerman angle and steering questions

for the sake of argument, what happens if you increase the legth of the steering arms by say 30%?

    2013 Tahoe return to center

Sounds like a steering rack issue to me, but that's a $$ solution to just throw parts at the problem. There is probably an inch-pound spec for steering rack input when disconnected, that's probably the best/only diagnostic if it really is a "sticky" rack.

    Ultra4/Racing venting help

Seal the breathers, then. Can get these over the counter at Walmart if you're in a hurry, the Amazon ones have seemed to be better quality. I change them once or twice per season. Running them on three cars, two have passed U4 tech multiple times...
