    Cheap carrier bearing

Great idea! Thanks for sharing this. This is the cool build it kinda tech that make us want to keep coming back here.

First Open Ride of the Fall 2020

I'm out. Didn't get a chance to fix my pinion seal and I'm sick.

    2 & 4 post lifts

I've got a 2 post atlas 10k extra tall extra wide lift. The only thing I don't like about it is the rubber pads in the lift points come loose over time and you have to search it to make sure you don't loose one by having it stuck to the bottom of a car. I've had it for around 5 years. No other...

    Welding Gas Tanks

Based on local experiences with both Airgas and Sexton, I'd take them to Sexton first. They are also much closer to your house. The only problem I've ever had them give me is for customer owned 300 c.f. bottles. At one point they quit selling 300 c.f. bottles and the counter folks wanted to act...

First Open Ride of the Fall 2020

If I get my pouring rear pinion seal changed, I'm going to try to go.

Anybody riding Stony this Sat the 25th? Or want to ride some private property in Morris, AL?

Another guy I know broke his steering box off the frame down there yesterday. While trying to limp it out, he broke the steering shaft. Apparently a rough day at stony lonesome.

395/85/20 Military Tires (Where can I buy these)

Ebay may be the best place. I think that's the same size as on 5 tons. Gov liquidation or someone like Boyce equipment that deals in that kinda stuff might be a good place. Boyce is out west somewhere so finding something closer to North Carolina might be better.

It’s finally here - Ford Bronco

It's kinda hard to take it seriously with ifs. I'm not trying to be a hater. I was kinda excited about it. Nothing new has done much for me in a long time other than some diesel tow rig stuff. It's just a let down.

What does HL think regular bed or flat

I vote flat bed. Having had a full sized trail truck with a regular bed, it sucks trying to tie stuff down in the bed. Adding tie down points in a sheet metal bed kinda sucks. Its hard to get it not to pull the sheet metal at the tie down points. Less overhang is always better.

C10 vs C25 Shielding Gas for MIG

The voltage threshholds vary for spray transfer depending on the shielding gas. We have a 350p setup with 0.045 and c10 for pulse spray transfer in the shop. Your welcome to come play around with it one day. Its a good process for thick materials. We use it generally for 3/8" and thicker. Inside...

    Step drill bits

The harbor freight ones really work quite well after you sharpen them with a fine grit sanding pad on a die grinder. Got to not turn them to fast or it will burn them up.

    4.5 Grinders

I got one of the new dewalt brushless 6" grinders recently. It has loads of torque and will take 4.5 grinding wheels if needed. One thing I really like about it is the overload/brake setup. It senses rpm and will cut off if you hang it instead if it kicking back. It works well and doesn't trip...

locked (or maybe even open) Toyota 4.10 8" 3rd

The late 8" housings are slightly different. The v6 guts work in them but some little details like the flange is thicker. The original bolts end up being kinda short. I have later v6 thirds in my 1985 4runner. If you need another 4.10 third, I probably have a one I'd part with. I'm just east...

    Hot shot delivery

Uship.com is sometimes a decent place to try for this. Watch out for brokers as some are crooks. Try to go direct. Cuts out the finger pointing.
