Pulling a large trailer and not having a CDL

When I talked to them it wasn't to ask if I needed a CDL, it was specifically trying to avoid needing one. Here is 25,600 GCWR. Before anyone says anything those are 5,200 lbs axles not 7,000. The trailers actual weight is 12k fully loaded.

Pulling a large trailer and not having a CDL

I called the State Police HQ for my district. They happily had the DOT officer call me back. He was happy to make sure I was doing the right thing and answered all my questions and understood why I was asking him.

Can we talk about the 1,000 hp elephant in the room?

Ill bet its not on gasoline. If it is then the owner must also own a piston company.

    1,000 HP Elephant Trans

ROFL. Sick of throwing money into the wrong tool for the job. 600 lbs diet. RPM's are your friend when jumping. The competition is all blown methanol and I'm too poor for all that 1960's technology. I'm already very familiar with turbo e85 engines, blow through carbs, and how to tune...

    1,000 HP Elephant Trans

That's exactly what Im worried about when landing on the throttle from jumps in 2nd gear. I'm going with FTI's new 10" Sniper case, they make some really nice stuff. Being billet instead of cast and having a O ring on the quick change cover was enough to convince me that case is the right...

    1,000 HP Elephant Trans

All this 1,000 HP talk plays right into my current dilemma and this will probably cause some good discussion so here goes. Im ordering my case Tomorrow and need to decide which way to go. No BS 1,000 to 1,200HP turbo LS. Transfer case and axle strength are a non issue and I dont need a...

Can we talk about the 1,000 hp elephant in the room?

True. I got made fun of because of my poor choice of engine for the last 4 years. Stupid diesels.

Can we talk about the 1,000 hp elephant in the room?

I've never heard a mega truck guy make fun of any bouncers and I've stood at the bottom of many hills with a bunch of them on multiple occasions. Just saying.

    6.7 powerstroke. Good or bad????

I would stay away from the 2011's. They have different exhaust valves and glow plugs than the later years. No one that I know of has figured out for sure if its the glow plugs that break off or the exhaust valves breaking that eats a cylinder, both pieces will be in there and ruin your day. Ford...

    6.7 powerstroke. Good or bad????

My 6.7 has like 230,000 on it although the engine doesn't. It was a 2011 and ate a valve at 180,000. The new engine was deleted from day one. The stock turbo died at around 210,000 and was replaced with a 2015 turbo. It stays permanently on the tow tune and has been totally reliable. I don't hot...
