    Diesel vs Gas

It was sealed for me about a month ago. My old 02 cummins. My buddys 05 cummins. My other friends 98 360 gasser. Going from Salem, Or to bend Or over santiam pass. I had 8k, the 05 had 10k, gasser had 7k. The gasser couldn't do over 45mph. I had to sandbag just so I wouldn't lose em. I did the...

    Getting things warmed up...

Buy a brick and set it on the pedal. Cheap, easy, and is a great conversation piece. My new 06 has the hi idle feature and as far as I know, its the first year of that option.

    NWW to the Rubicon?

I'd be down for a run south. Already committed to a run there in Sept, so this might be a good shake down run. 4 hours to run from loon to Caddy hill?! Sounds like work to me. No thanks! I'll leave it in 1st and idle the trail.

10-14-2006 the day reiter pit/trails won my toy :(

Well said mike. That is essentially what I was going to say. I built my rig to enjoy ALL types of trails and terrain. I don't go out to put on a smoke and sparks show like some. I like to lean on the edge of difficult. To do that, you have to set fear of damage aside. That's the whole point of...

10-14-2006 the day reiter pit/trails won my toy :(

Spoken like a true scardy cat. You haven't run those trail because you can't run them wouthout damage. Your afraid of damage. Again, you can't say "I ran all the trails but..." when the only ones open are easys and 2 most diffs. That's like saying you went to Disney land but never went rode...

    International Question

Since its a D44 front, a lot of guys do a knuckle swap to chevy stuff so they can have disc brakes and easy to find parts. Drums arent awful if you have trailer brakes and parts arent that hard to find, but still not chevy easy. Rear drums are getting harder to find but as far as I know you can...

    Popo at evans

One thing, I'm not sure if it has been mentioned or not. Not all laws will apply to us guys in the older rigs. My 63 scout came without seat belts, for example. Atleast in oregon, they cant site you if it wasnt required at the time of manufacturing. Not that i didnt put belts in, im just saying...

10-14-2006 the day reiter pit/trails won my toy :(

It doesn't count when half the trails are closed. Sounds like your gonna whine if you haven't dented it yet. Means your afraid... I would be to if I wheeled a stamped sheetmetal box. :redneck:

    International Question

To make it the easiest swap you pretty much need anothe one in 4x4. You can't use any scout parts. They used a divorced 205 like ford or dodge. Good thing is, most places can't give away full size IH parts so if you keep your eyes open you could score what you need easily. Tow with it as is...

    TBI Question

9600 sounds about right. Mine runs so good that I havent had to log data in forever:D My laptop was free so i dont worry about bringing it on runs. I carry 1 of all my sensors and a spare ECM. They were all leftovers from junkyard scrounging. Problem with these conversions is sometimes you get...

    TBI Question

yes, but he didnt want to run a check engine light. plus, with Winaldl you have all the data in real time. No need for codes, it flags whats wrong. you just have to keep your laptop handy. The way my system has been, once I got the bugs worked out it has been a 'turn the key and forget about it'...

    TBI Question

Really you dont need the 'B' either. Read to your hearts content http://www.binderbulletin.org/forums/showthread.php?t=47254 Remember, its for IH's so disregard the distributor conversion. If you cant figure it out from that link, you need to hand in your keys and drive a yugo.

    Isabel Trail... Whats Up There?

Crossing the waterfall isnt worth the drama. If the trail went someplace then I would do it but just to go 20 yards and turn around. Izzy is fun up to the bridge. Makes for a nice, casual drive.

    Some pics from the Rubicon

Its funny seeing other peoples pics and trying to figure out where they were on the trail. Good times.
