Did deep water/mud crossing and got pics!

You just gotta remember that most of the guys on this board think that if it ain't all hardcore rock crawling, it ain't **** and a waste of a 4x4. I run my Jeep in the mud pits and get crap every time I post about it, so I found another forum that appreciates running mud! This one is good for a...

? for those that don't use their truck as a DD?

My F-250 sits for weeks or months at a time...Unless I have to mow the lawn. :haha: It pretty much starts when I need it, but it takes a lot of cranking to get the fuel back up to the carb. Helps to have an oversize battery in it, also. Haven't done anything special with it, but it doesn't have...

Anyone think D-44 axles will hold up to a mini-spool?

AAWW, heck, it can't smell any worse than her Cooking! :haha: But she gets sick just walking out to the garage when I am working on axles or trannies and have grease on me....can't stand the smell. I've heard to use a hi nickle rod. Is that right? Will 7018 work? I don't have access to a mig...

Anyone think D-44 axles will hold up to a mini-spool?

Looks like thats the plan... I know the gears need pre-heated, can I use a bottled propane torch or does it have to be Oxy-acetylene to get it hot enough?

Anyone think D-44 axles will hold up to a mini-spool?

CRASH! or Dustin! Lockright install ??'s

Anyone wanna trade 1 lockright for a spool? :haha: I got it back together, but could only get one more thrust washer into the case, and still put the pin in. Worked a little better, but still doesn't hook up like I want. Ground the locker a couple times and didn't even got moving (in dirt)...

CRASH! or Dustin! Lockright install ??'s

I gott'r figured out. I didn't install the 2 thrust washers that came with the unit (used). I was thinking they were originals from the previous diff. But they are needed, so I have it tore back apart to install them. The cups are in the correct direction, turns out they will only go in one...

CRASH! or Dustin! Lockright install ??'s

in this pic, the red areas are cup-like inserts. what orientation are they? cup towards axle or towards center? I tried to install them cup towards center, but the center pin didn't want to go in. also, does the lockright have its own thrust washers and needs to use the original ones from the...

    The Toy Man in Portland!

I have NO personal experience with him, but I HAVE seen a number of posts on CL where he ...lets say the customer didn't seem happy with his work..... But I also have seen his own posts defending himself, and he has had a good argument about why the customer wasn't happy. who's right? I dunno...

    Air Ride!!!!

I'll be putting a set on my Wife's Durango to help out when towing the Jeep on the car trailer. Got a set off a parts truck a while ago, so it'll be a free mod.

    My (almost) new tow rig.

    Is this a good thing?

    Is this a good thing?

axle seals will get replaced, along with at least a good greasing (If not new bearings, that depends on funds) It does have a breather on it, Hopefully it will get extended upwards pretty soon!

    Is this a good thing?

Yep thats my next project, cleaning and inspecting the outer ends of the axles. Fortunatley its getting kinda limited use right now and BTW I'm never lucky like that! :haha: I'm sure this one sat for a while before I got it. the PO did a bunch of stuff to it, but it seems like he never used it...
