Your cables are too small. Run 0 or 00 guage wires to the winch, and from the winch back to the ground. Make sure you've got good, clean, connections, and make sure they're soldered, not crimped.

It's a PITA to switch. You need both the adapter, and the TH400 output shaft. The output shaft requires you to completely dissassemble the transmission, and reassemble it with the correct shaft. Might as well rebuild it, as it's completely apart. The factory adapters were cast aluminum...

That might be tough to do. If it were mine, I'd try for 2nd to R.

The front axle upper link mount looks weak. That ginormous hole in the sides has no benefit and substantial detriment. I think it will fail. And IF it does fail, your axle will twist, destroying a driveshaft, coilovers, steering and a whole bunch of other expensive stuff, so reinforce that...
