Sold/Expired OLD Skool 6x9 KC Lights

Yeah the 80's and running as many lights as you could fit. That's one technology that's changed for the better with the low draw, tough, small, very bright LED's available today. Still there's something to be said for the K-range of these Old Skool Halogen lights. IIRC these may offer better...

    What does your 4Runner weigh?

Just for comparison my 2005 Jeep LJ (Non-Rubicon) 4.0L manual tran.'s with 35" MTR's, Warn X8,000i winch, full metal doors, back seat, factory carpet, full factory soft top and recovery kit/tools/basic spare parts and full fuel is just under 4.000lbs. When I strip it down for serious wheeling...

    Double Beadlock Disassembly?

I have owned my Hutchinsons for over three years now and have swapped over tires three times. The secret is patience, breaking down a set with tires mounted is not that bad if you just take your time and use the right tools. I personally bought a low budget tire removal tool set consisting of a...

    Wheel preference

I'd run the 8" wheels which should turn into 9" wheels with the bead-locks installed. You also need to take into account the inner bead which does not have a bead-lock and therefore is more susceptible to losing a bead being on the wider 10" wheel. If you are only running deep snow the 10"...

    got a ? about spools.

Running a 4cyl. is fine, but they have two distinct problems over running a larger stronger engine: first they have very little power for Hwy. driving particularly mountain roads and second they cannot create enough wheel speed quickly enough to conquer some climbs/mud bogs off road. As a past...

    Biggest tire on toy axles.

Obviously driving style plays an enormous role on drivetrain survivability, but vehicle weight is also another really big factor to consider. If the vehicle running 44"+ tires weighs under 4,000lbs. and is driven with respect of the drivetrain then running Toyota or Dana 44 axles should be...

    Tire pressure and tread wear???

I hear you guys and would agree it's only that I was told from an experienced wheeler that he was able to get quite remarkable tread life from running his bias Swampers at over inflated pressures most of the time when on the street. Now I can't say for sure if he was always running on the center...

    Tire pressure and tread wear???

That's exactly what I was getting at, tread wear is more reliant upon heat then actual contact. If the temperature of the tire is managed better by keeping the air pressure higher then there is less wear. Even if only a portion of the tire is in contact with the road the tire will show less wear...

    Radial Tires

I would buy the 37"x12.50"x15" MTR's of old if they were still available. I ran those tires in 33", 35" and 37" sizes and they never let me down, working well in snow, sand, mud and rock. The new MTR/K doesn't impress me although a strong tire the tread doesn't work as good as the old MTR's from...

    Radial Tires

Right on Nickb, all the good feedback and info. I've read along with of course the 37" on a 15" wheel option in a radial was just what I was after. I'll post up some feedback in a month or two when I've run them off-road. Cheers Sniper

    Radial Tires

So thanks to Nickb for the tip (on Ridgeline Motorsports) as it allowed me to secure a good deal on some PBR Radials in the 37" variety from Ridgeline. I'm waiting the three to four weeks for delivery because I just decided to go to Moab for EJS and the radial PBR's will fair much better on the...

    Subaru Camp Buggy

Cool, would look and work even better sitting on some +35" sized mudders. No worries about changing wheels, I once ran a set of 36" tall x 14.50" wide tires on stock Toyota 6" wheels and they ran fine even at 127MPH.

TJ Rear Antirock w/no body lift?

I have an LJ and will be upgrading to an anti-rock for the rear (already have one in the front), would one work w/o any body lift in a LJ. Thanks...

If you need hockey pucks just give Pokey a holler, he's still got a box of them leftover from the eighties.:D

    Tire pressure and tread wear???

^x2 What this wheeler was saying is that the decreased heat from running higher pressures related to less tread wear even in the middle of the tread.

    Tire pressure and tread wear???

Okay so the weight of the vehicle is supported by the air in the tires. Then does it not compute that the more air in the tire the easier it would be on the tire to carry said vehicle? Vehicle weight remaining equal a tire with a smaller volume requires greater pressure (more pressure because...
