So I swapped my front 44 to a 60 almost 3 years ago but didn't finish. I finally got off my butt and a week ago and got it going. Still have to regear, gears have been sitting in the garage since before the swap, and fix a few small issues but I plan on actually getting it back out soon to see...
Skip the D44 front, it has the same size u joint as a D30 so unless you plan on running RCVs it's a waste of time and money. And the cost of RCVs puts it higher than a D60. I had a 78HD D44 out of a F250 and even with chromos and good u joints I was snapping joints and stubs as well as hubs...

HL ride at Chocco was 2017, I don't think you were there. I camped in the playground and didn't know a soul there. Trip cost me a shock, 2 u joints, a hub and stub shaft. "Tried" following a Yota on tons on stuff my little D44 couldn't handle.
From what I've seen they are decent if it's above 70* but any cooler and they bring the suck. Way too hard and take a ton of wheel speed to clean out. I personally haven't run them but my wore out TSLs walked things they struggled on.
I still try to get on here a few times a week but usually don't have much to say. Job got crazy and my junk hasn't moved in almost 2 years. I'm hoping to get it back going in the near future and building a camper van so when I go places I don't have to stay in a tent any more, pushing 50 and...
So what do these arms look like, can't find a website that doesn't take me to 4 wheel parts. I'm running ORA weld on ones and they clear my 17s with 4.5" off backspacing and have a decent amount of room.
