Is it worth it , or are forums a dying media ?

I loved this forum up until I bought an iPhone 2 years ago and couldn't post unless it was a PC. I went back to android and still have constant issues and have to try 3-4 times before it will work even for a small response. The only advantage forums have to Facebook/Instagram is the ability to...

Best sticky tire for my jeep

Re: Re: Best sticky tire for my jeep What's wrong with staying on the toilet? Lol I bought 4 39s with trail ready for my old Zuk for $1600 used. I bought 5 one runs 39s for the portal buggy for $1800. The 75% 39s I have now cost me $1000. They flat work, finding a cheap spare is crazy easy...

Best sticky tire for my jeep

Re: Re: Best sticky tire for my jeep Look up Cottontail Creations on Facebook and watch Artie and Bunnie's latest video from K2. Shawn Inman bought his 20s from Dirty Life and they weren't anymore than most 17s. I've seen several good deals on 42s lately, just none locally. Sent from my...

Best sticky tire for my jeep

Alex and Roland both left 42" Treps for SX stickies. Alex said the SX last longer and stick better where we wheel. He had the SX prior to Treps and ran Boggers before that. I'm not sure what made Roland switch, he ran sticky boggers before the Treps. I like to keep my rigs lighter, so imo Reds...

    Zuk Based JHF/Goatbuilt Buggy

Trans builder sent me a message to let me know where I messed up. I was going off an exploded catalog pic and guessing. I'd never try it again, but it was a good learning experience. "Well, you got it stacked up without destroying hard parts, so thats good. Biggest mistake was a one way...

Newly rebuilt transmission is in and he's headed to thrash on wrapping up a few loose ends to wheel this weekend with me. It's now on 42" reds and Dirty Life beadlocks. I'll get pics when I see him Saturday.

    Zuk Based JHF/Goatbuilt Buggy

The fluid is brown and stinks to high heaven, some of the sprags show a lot of heat, and the clutches show a lot of wear. I've been doing a ton of reading and it seems very common to lose reverse. One opinion is the reverse solenoid piston is too short not allowing enough pressure causing it to...

    Zuk Based JHF/Goatbuilt Buggy

I've had a few questions about my fix, so I figured I'd post a couple pics to help someone. Having just ripped a 3/4 heim in half I figured I would share what I learned this weekend. Trail Gear 3.5 9" housing using 05+ Superduty Cs and outers with stock Spicer 1550 shafts and a PSC 2.5x10 ram...

    Zuk Based JHF/Goatbuilt Buggy

It looks like a casting flaw, but I'm not sure maybe just undersized. I only had about 2 hours of wheeling on it and it was on flat ground not in any way bound when it pulled apart. I was lucky a buddy saw it go and stopped me in time to keep from doing anymore damage, and another buddy had a...

    Zuk Based JHF/Goatbuilt Buggy

Re: It looks like when I sucked down the front the lower radiator mount moved enough it pushed it all together. Just going to have to make a bigger space in between them and beef the lower mount up.

    Zuk Based JHF/Goatbuilt Buggy

Shakedown run was a disaster. Ripped a new 3/4 x 3/4 rear steer heim in half, transmission lost reverse and the fan rubbed a hole in the radiator. Got it torn apart, did a lot of grinding on the steering arms and almost had a new trans, but all 3 at the junkyard were the early 4l80 with the...

    Gusset that knuckle?

Pre and post heat to at least 400* and then bury in sand overnight to slow cool. That's what I did when I gusseted my Chevy 60 knuckles with the DIY4X kit years ago.
