    Anit-Sway Bars

If you do want to add a rear bar how do you determine what diameter to use? Not saying I will on this rig, just researching. It seems like they are on almost all professionally built rigs these days. Cameron builds a new bouncer about every 6 months it seems, so if there was no advantage to...

    Anit-Sway Bars

I seem to see them on almost every high end rig out there. Tim Cameron's newest creation has one on the rear. "UnderRated" TIM CAMERONS NEW BUGGY

    Anit-Sway Bars

Sorry if this has already been addressed but I haven't seen anything on it. In the old days everyone was all about removing sway-bars from factory rigs if they had them or having disconnects to allow for unimpeded articulation. But now it seems that most people who build custom trick rigs have...

    Cut Tires

Thanks. Those are some good ideas. The hot chisel looks pretty slick. What is that pneumatic cutting tool? Chain saw isn't too bad if you are just going straight across. Some years ago I tried squaring off the knobs on a dirt bike rear tire to get more life using a saws-all . It worked...

    Cut Tires

From looking at the photos of cut tires with whole lugs cut out, it appears that they do this with a hot tire groover fro all the little marks. But that could take days to do a set of 4. Cutting sipes I get, but removing whole knobs?? Is that the way they do it or do they use some other...

    Sold/Expired New Black Buggy...

Nice looking rig. How do you like those ORI struts? I see they have internal stops for bump and droop. My Kings have neither, and my buggy doesn't have external except rubber bumps on the front.

Best way to run rear steer

Slick idea. Well if the switches you have are just momentary with atuo recenter upon release, couldn't you just hace 2 smalll switches on the spokes of the steering wheel? Add silonod switches if necessary. That would aslo free up the left foot for clutch and/or brake.

Best way to run rear steer

Re: Re: Re: This looks like a great solution. Why 2 switches? Is it normal front steer only, then push one for rear only and the second for front and rear? Or do you have the option for crab steer? Any chance you could go into all the details for this system?

    Best 16.5

I just saw this thread. I tried to call Essentially Offroad to see if they knew anything but no one picked up and the vm was full. http://www.hardlinecrawlers.com/forums/index.php?topic=27079.0 If anyone has a current link to someone selling 16.5 stickies please post it. Not too excited...

    Limiting Straps and Bump Stops

I'm not as much concerned with the way the extension looks. It's not that bad. I'm more concerned with the strenghth. Big drop on the top. ???

    Best 16.5

I know what you mean Kevin, the 42s look right. About the only reason I would want to go to a smaller tire is to reduce unsprung weight. Bigger tires roll over stuff better.

    Best 16.5

I'm still getting up to speed on what the latest technology is for crawlers and bouncers. My buggy was built on 16.5 H1 wheels. I see a lot of people like the crawl specific sticky tires that are out there. The Maxxis seems to be the favorite, but no one seems to make a sticky tire in 16.5...

    Limiting Straps and Bump Stops

I imagine the oil in there is fine considering how little rock time the buggy has gotten. Although I guess the fronts were used when it was a Samurai for a while first. I ordered a King metering tool so once I get a nitrogen bottle and regulator I can adjust the spring rate. This is kind of...

    Limiting Straps and Bump Stops

That was the second owner. He said he had to hold his head sideways so he didn't hit. It is actually a good height for me too. Just wish he had hired a better welder. I think he also moved the clutch brake mounting point forward. I can just barley push the clutch in all the way on my tip...

Thanks Dan. The question was more about do I need to bother with bump stops and limiting straps.
