    GM Gauge Cluster

My 03 has done the same for years. It'll pop back on after hitting a bump in the road. The speedo will also start dropping to zero after driving for a couple hours. If I stop for a few minutes, the speedo usually comes back to life. Now, the cluster has an intermittent current draw that will...

Looks like a good idea. I'm in for a set. Thanks

    Fastenal rocks

I deal with Tacoma Screw (Kent) quite a bit at work. The sales guy that handles our account is great and will track down just about anything for me. I've tried a few of the local Fastenal branches before and found that most of their counter guys seem inexperienced and their prices aren't very...

    My New Tow Rig

I have a used ATS turbo kit for the 6.9/7.3 that I'd like to sell off. Bought it for my E-350 but afterward found that it won't fit in a van chassis. $750 if you're interested. Those IDI motors aren't too bad. Mine served me well for years. Be sure to look in to the coolant additive that helps...

    CJ 7 vs ferrari

Did anybody click on the username for that video? I'm thinking he isn't racing Ferraris anymore. http://www.youtube.com/user/zz572 Another video of the same rig. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TxtfXhfT2g

    ATTN. Jeepers!! Need help!

I agree with stretching it just behind the door openings. I'm still kicking myself for not doing it on mine. The tub got all new floors and I put it on a YJ frame so it would have been cake to do back then. Isn't the CJ6 20" longer than a CJ5? I probably wouldn't stretch it that far but an...

    Interchangeability of Warn contactors...

Yeah, that's probably the best move. Playing frankenstein with parts that aren't supposed to work together can be kinda fun, though. It can also be a fun way to let the smoke out of a perfectly good winch motor. :D

    Interchangeability of Warn contactors...

(I'm pretty sure this is right.... it's been several years since I went to school for this stuff) The "A" terminal is the armature winding (part that spins). The F1 and F2 terminals are both sides of the field windings (part that doesn't spin). The field and armature windings are wired in...

    What Battery do you Prefer?

I have a red top that I bought in about 1997 for my old K5. Since that time, it has been in a few other rigs and spent well over a year sitting on a shelf without charging. Been mostly discharged several times and seen plenty of winch duty. Despite my best efforts, the damn thing still works...

    Wheel Spacers

Actually, I have the "right" wheels already. They are reversed center 15x8's with around an 1.5" BS. Problem is, I can't do a DIY beadlock on them due to the tire mounting issues. I want the spacers so I can run a standard backspace wheel. This is on the rear only, the front is getting a wider...

    Wheel Spacers

I'm looking for some recommendations on wheel spacers, particularly the 6x5.5 in a 1.5" or 2" width. Are there any brands that have held up good? Any to avoid? Thanks

Washington State Vehicle License Fee Bill SB6900

Where did you find that they are trying it again? The link was from the 2008 attempt and the bill didn't make it very far that time.

    Trailer Tire Opinion

We run G rated (14 ply) 16" tires on all of our trailers at work. Weight wise, we're well within the range of most E rated tires. The G rated ones have lasted a lot longer, though. Schwabbie's usually stock them.

Looking at an '87 Ford Diesel King Cab tomorrow

If you end up getting it and want a little more power, I have an ATS turbo kit for sale. Send me a PM if you're interested. The 6.9/7.3 seems to be a good motor. I've had a 7.3 van for about 12 years and it hasn't had any major engine issues. Couple vacuum and lift pump failures are about...

Tuning a ZZ4 and Holley TBI

I agree with Binder, your BLM numbers are not happy at all. Are you running a factory GM chip or ??? You mentioned in the first post that the motor has been installed for a year. Was it running ok and later developed this problem or has it always ran bad? Make sure that some other mechanical or...

    edelbrock fuel injection

I'd say a big "con" is that it's over $3000. :eeek: I don't have any personal experience with the Edelbrock systems but it looks like a good setup if you want something that you can bolt on and run. It'll still take some tweaking and tuning to get just right though, just like any other...

Tri-County Gear makes one for the 18. Not sure if it would fit a 20, though.

    Lets see your tow rigs

That's damn spiffy! Be sure to keep your tailgate locked. One of the guys I work with recently had the tail lights stolen out of his 08 2500HD. They just dropped the tailgate, removed the screws, and took off. He had a hard time finding replacements in stock since so many people have been...
