Been away from the board for a few days and first thing I see is that Alcohol was involved.
Traggic. And very preventable. The driver will have to live with that.
Gotta wonder.
Did he sober up on the walk, or when they found his friend?
I've had issues on that road in the fog. not speeding and I had to have the door open to stay on the road.
I hate that some people just wanna take this chance to bash.
The same Bashing happened a few years back when some of our friends
rolled off the Forest service road. Nobody died thank...
Dumb arse.
Thats ok though we had two at Elbe this weekend too.
Both trying to go threw Mainline's Mud hole with Street tires
and next to nothing for recovery gear
Well after foolin around with it all week and taking the advice
of BrianH,
Found out more about the new wheeler.
5 speed tranny not 4 like I was told.
Engine wouldn't idle
Swapped in another Carb.
Ran like a dream for about an Hour, Then the
POS 1st Gen BFG sidewall blew out, Go figure
LOL I...
Mike (MightyMouse) of the Broke Bastards did a similar cliff dive
off of the FS Road up at Evans, A few of the Guys here were there to
help us out for that Epic Fail.
That said, Mike's rig was a Full size Chev framed Truggy,
Rolled it threw Trees, Rocks and hit the bottom of the
Cliff 300...
22r
4 speed
35's
4" Rancho
Open diffs
Aisin hubs
Yeah I finally gave in and bought a Yota.
More details to come when I get the diffs open to
check the Gears and such but for now all it needs is
a tune up and some soapy water
To clarify, Never wheeled where I thought I needed one.
TSF, Evans, Naches, and some Reiter trails in my Fool Size Bronco.
Only been in a few places that I thought about it.
Never had a rig I have had to wear one in.
When I get the Bronco or Yota started and caged.
I will have one mainly because I will be doing more
challenging Wheeling.
This topic came up a while back on KrazyK5
I've always though the Quick change style 3rd members
were a good idea untill I saw this one.
Being into Broncos, and wheeling with them a lot, I think
a spare third member 9 inche sitting in camp just in case is awesome.
Yeah it's cool that they...
5.13 or 5.38
And if you do go with 40's
Start lookin fo some places you can store some D44 spare shafts.
Or a Block of steel to weld to the bottom of the skinny pedal.
And if your pre purchasing, You need to deside if your gonna
grind into your 60 calipers for 15's or gonna run 16's.
Ran 37's for years with my 8.8's< note the s on that.
You wont have an issue with the shafts but you will most
likely bent or crack the housing.
No bull, 3 housings in less then a year. Only plus to
yours is that it is under a Jeep and mine was under a Full Size Bronco.
Didn't get crap done.
No wheelin again.
Couldnt go anywhere cause of my back.
Finally got to go see BrianH and JP's rigs yesterday.
Spent today by the pool then mowed the Lawn.
Good to hear someone did something with Dirtybirds
Personally I would have aired them to about 140psi
Then the tread would streach out enough to mimic
a Pitbull Rocker
:awesomework: Would have been cool to see anyway:beer:
I have too many to post my worst.
Here is a buddy from Jersey earlier this week.
His copilot wanted to see how deep the water was.
Well it was about a foot deep til the drop off......
How quick it dropped off..............
My Fullsize Bronco 8.8 has the same issue.
I dont know what kid of clearance you have but
I did a truss on mine, Of course you can design it
to better suit your rig but I think the truss is a
really good idea for it.
Here is how I did min but I had a lot of clearance to work with
