To clarify, Never wheeled where I thought I needed one. TSF, Evans, Naches, and some Reiter trails in my Fool Size Bronco. Only been in a few places that I thought about it.

Never had a rig I have had to wear one in. When I get the Bronco or Yota started and caged. I will have one mainly because I will be doing more challenging Wheeling.

Ran 37's for years with my 8.8's< note the s on that. You wont have an issue with the shafts but you will most likely bent or crack the housing. No bull, 3 housings in less then a year. Only plus to yours is that it is under a Jeep and mine was under a Full Size Bronco.

My Fullsize Bronco 8.8 has the same issue. I dont know what kid of clearance you have but I did a truss on mine, Of course you can design it to better suit your rig but I think the truss is a really good idea for it. Here is how I did min but I had a lot of clearance to work with
