    Airbags

The ride rites just want you to keep 5 psi in the bags even when empty, just to prevent bottom out. I think the load lifters are for guys that are completely replacing their mechanical suspension and going 100% air. That internal bump stop makes it so you can at least limp off the road.

    Airbags

I thought firestone and ride rite were the same thing. Ive had mine for like 10 years. The bags have held up. the brackets need a little love, but I blame my lift for that. In cab control is the only way to go, make sure left and right bag are on separate feeds. Does anyone still buy...

    Having a 7.3 is fun...timing is great

The west side of the grand tetons between idaho and jackson hole is fun when your running way over your GVW rating. Ended up putting the truck in 2wd low range going up and back down. Transmission and brakes were way happier that way.

I've seen that adapter before. It had to do with buying a cheap china brand ICP and not having the correct threads. Cant believe I missed that while looking at your engine.

    Having a 7.3 is fun...timing is great

hmmmm, that IS interesting. Given all the other stuff he has done, it wouldnt surprise me if he swapped in a different motor or maybe did a head swap. The International 2003 Engine Quick Reference Guide says to use 1830669C92 for engine serial number 375548 and below. And to use 1807329C92 for...

ebay. You can get the pigtail and new ICP sensor in a package deal for under 100 bucks. Thats where I got mine. I try really hard not to buy parts direct from Ford if I dont have too. The exception to that is Titus Will has an online catalog, that if you order and pay via the webpage, you get...

    Having a 7.3 is fun...timing is great

Previous owner was quite the "do it yourselfer". Nothing horrible, but he didnt waste any money buying "pre-fab" when he could fab it himself! Two reasons he could have put the probe after the turbo. 1- the downpipe came pre-drilled for a sensor. This is common with certain brands of downpipe...

thats the problem with these newer electronic diesels, if you dont have the right computer program, you cant really troubleshoot them like you can mechanical diesels. let me know. Im more free during the week than I am this weekend. sunday evening would be good for me if it has to be the weekend.

    Having a 7.3 is fun...timing is great

Its pretty common to smoke the sensor. Thats a lot of heat coming up that tube, and it will cook the sensor. Pretty common to replace. Its kinda of a non-issue sensor. It helps control the warmup valve on the turbo more than anything. If the sensor doesnt work, the computer wont close the warmup...

well, wasnt quite the fuel problem I was chasing, but it was still a fuel problem!

black was the original sensor from international. There are actually two flavors. silver pins and gold pins. early trucks used one type of connector material, and later trucks used the other. If you mixed the two colors, you could create electrolysis and corrode the pins over time. Slime the...

You need my autoenginuity scanner. ford/international was not required to meet the exact OBD2 spec, so the majority of OBD2 readers dont work correctly. My AE can do the IPR duty cycle monitoring, that a reader cant do. ICP sensors do fail. They have to monitor 3000+ psi pressures. Thats hard...

    Truck won't idle

Is the pump turning on tho? It should run for several seconds on initial key up, then shut off until you begin cranking the motor over. Although even if its running that doesnt rule out problems elsewhere in the fuel system. Sorry to sound like a broken record, but fuel problems are the one...

    Truck won't idle

Well, that kinda rules out a bad ICP sensor to me. I still think your fighting a fuel pressure issue. its the one thing the computer has no sensor for, so wont throw a code. There is a pressure test port on the side of the fuel filter housing, but you need a metric to NPT adapter in order to...

    Truck won't idle

Those seem high, but if the engine is cold, and running rough, that could explain it. Usually in the 500 to 600 range pressure, and 20% or less on duty cycle. I still think you need to rule out fuel pressure. These trucks can syphon just enough fuel from the tank to run, but it will be very...

    Truck won't idle

are you able to look at things like injector oil pressure and ICP duty cycle? You could have lost an o-ring on an injector, and getting oil into your fuel and causing the blue smoke. Pull the dipstick and make sure your not down on oil, and that your not MAKING oil with fuel getting into the...

    Truck won't idle

Im still leaning towards fuel pressure. These trucks will barely run with no fuel pump, but will smoke, shake, and wont rev out. Fuel pressure is the one thing ford doesnt monitor, so a scanner wont find it. So if the truck technically runs, and no check engine light, I'd start with fuel issues...

    Truck won't idle

smoke out the pipe is incomplete burn. Usually caused by either no fuel pressure, or no high pressure oil to drive the injectors correctly. Will it rev up at all? EGR shouldnt cause idle issues.
