To auto or not to auto

That is a top notch piece & what we use in all of our builds.

    auto and diff gearing

Another thing you may want to consider when looking at the low gears for a 60 is the "Pro" gears for drag cars. They are softer and absorb the shock load way better. You can usually find the real low gear sets used at the Corvette & High Performance swap meet also.

My Ford! My Ford! My Ford! part 2

That's a good looking pickup! But I'm partial to green OBS Fords. :D

    Auto Shifters

Mike, PM me your address & I will send you an old B&M Prostick. You can see if you like it, mod it to your likes, whatever. I have no use for it, pay it forward.

    Auto Shifters

I like the simplicity & durability of the B&M Prostick with the lockout removed.

    TG bought Longfield?

That's what happens when paying cash. The $65 you skimmed from Uncle Sam just isn't worth it sometimes as the Good Ol boy deals usually pass away with them. :frown:

7.3 - Random rough idle and power loss

Good work! I have repaired all of my 7.3's there and wrap that section in a piece of heater hose or neoprene to prevent further chafing.

7.3 - Random rough idle and power loss

Have you looked at the underside of the engine harness where it rubs on the valvecover?

    Narrowing a FF Dana 60

I have a jig to narrow rears but not sure on the FF housings. Who here has done it and how involved is it?

    9K winches

Like the old Warn Lock-O-Matic hubs from the 80's.

    9K winches

The 8274 is awesome. I have had motors for them rebuilt by local electric shops and they were around $100 IIRC.

That sounds like a good plan. The rearward facing intake is no biggy, a turbo would fix that. :redneck:
