    Is anyone actually riding?

Headed to Rugged Mountain Ranch for the normal New Years shenanigans. Near freezing at night and 50's during the day with now rain in the forecast.

    Improve Hydroboost Brakes

Funny follow up to this whole brake saga. When I swapped to the 1/2 ton master, brakes were pretty good for a long time until one trip when the peddle went to the floor. After disassembly of the master, I found one of the piston seals to be the wrong size, it was floating in its groove vs the...

    Pics of your shops/garages/specs

You guys have it made!!! I have to empty my pretty stuff out so I can pull the buggy in to work on!! 2 car garage is tight. Every time I come across a good deal on a tool, I have to figure out where to put it.

    Dorman

Does that mean we can buy a lift kit at Autozone for our SXS's? With Wheel Pros buying Transamerican/4 Wheel Parts, the world of UTV's will prob see a big push for aftermarket, but inventory is super low and prices are through the roof. Vision Wheel is opening 3 new warehouses across the...

    SX stickies and racelines

I am not running any spacers on mine. I torqued the bolts to around 20lbs, prob a little tighter to be honest. My rings basically bottom against the wheel. I did notice it took really low air pressure to get the inside bead to seat so I broke the first one back down and did 5 wraps of black...

I’m thinking of replacing my glass windshield

I did my TJ and LJ buggys with Lexan, bought 1/4" thick. It is more scratch resistant than plexiglass. I then used Plexus to clean and polish them a bunch before we hit the trails and every time I cleaned it. I don't recommend using your windshield wipers at all. The Lexan would have a little...

    Improve Hydroboost Brakes

I started with the hydroboost and 1.46" bore master from a 05' 2500 burb with 8.1 gas and switched to an 05' 1500 Chevy 5.3 that did not have the hydroboost option. The specs said 1.25" bore.

    Improve Hydroboost Brakes

I'm here to confirm that the internet didn't lie. Brakes are noticeably better. I was a little concerned swapping stuff out that the pushrod was a little long but i think the hydroboost acts a little different. I had an oem pushrod which was 3.14" per all the googling i could do. Been that way...

    Improve Hydroboost Brakes

After getting home and comparing, the GM master uses 1/2-20 ports for front and rear where the ram one had 2 different size metric ports. No big deal, I can get some fittings and brake lines. So I went back on Oreilys web site and the 05 Chevy half ton gas has the same 1/2-20 ports and a 1.25...

    Improve Hydroboost Brakes

Won't be able to make it. I run a shop so I can get 3 day weekends here and there and really have to plan out my vacations. Thinking Hammers next year and wheel instead of work the race team. Depends what the wife has to say, considering how much she likes to drive the buggy, most of my time off...

    Improve Hydroboost Brakes

Thanks Zjman!! I work in an automotive shop and just clicked and ordered from my Oreilly's. They just dropped it off. The upside is if I don't like it they will take it back. Our shop is their biggest commercial account so they really like us. Now when I get to go home and see what I need to...

    Improve Hydroboost Brakes

I ordered the factory pedal from the same GM 2500 truck. I was trying to keep everything as correct as possible. I found online somewhere where they talked about pedal ratio. Manual vs vacuum vs hydroboost. I might be able to extend pedal a little, maybe an inch. That is a good idea...

    Improve Hydroboost Brakes

I have a GM Hydroboost and master from an 05' 2500 gas truck. I have a Kingpin 60 front with factory calipers and a 14 bolt rear with the Lugnut dana 44 brake kit. I installed a Wilwood prop valve for the rear. On a dirt road in 2wd i adjust prop valve to keep rear from locking up first. I'm a...

    Weight distribution hitches

I have the one like in the pic where the bars hang from chain. I think it was a Curt I bought from local Northern Tool for appx $229. The chain is easy to work with, can very how much help it gives you depending on your load. It takes a minute but you also adjust the slide in receiver, head...

    Burris valley ranch

The annual Tackett Creek Challenge is Memorial weekend. That 24 hour long trail in the Hell and Back video was won last year in a WOD buggy in 26 mins. I promise no "F" were given by that driver. They have a separate qualifying course to determine starting order. It is a great event and many...

    Daystar bumps

I run them in the rear of my rig, been in there 1 year so far without problems. I like the idea of playing with the different inserts to change the stiffness. I played with the dual rate adjusters on my coil overs to make sure the spring rate ramps up so as not to rely on the bumps 100% to stop...

Cold vulcanizing from Busted Knuckle Off Road

Not retreads, a specific soft tread added on top of a carcass. It's common to see delamination around the edges of the treads as the tires wear and get older. Not much of an issue, just a result of the design. Give our friends grief that have them, tell them to glue them back down so they don't...

Cold vulcanizing from Busted Knuckle Off Road

If you have ever looked at an older, worn BFG Red, you will notice that the soft tread pattern is actually a cap added the a normal tire carcass. So BFG is actually a 2 part tire, old technology with an outer hope and dream attached. No glue known to man kind has been able to bond these hopes...
