    Is anyone actually riding?

Rode this past weekend. About 25 miles through the cove.

    Shootout 2023

Last year was actually a little entertaining to watch. Atleast they picked something hard enough to deny rigs. Last night was either flops and action in the blind spots, Toyotas breaking at the start line or a decent run. It just wasn’t really much of a “shootout”.

No clue if this counts. But I don’t give a damn. This is the most fun I’ve had “offroad” in a long time.

What battery do y'all use in your rig?

Deka. Really anything made by east penn, which is 80% of what’s been named(Deka, odyssey, store brand agm). Same thing with a different sticker on it.

    Night riding lights

not sure why, but it wouldn’t let me type any text on my last post. Regardless, see picture above. I run those. One mounted near the firewall/A pillar area on each side and two bolted under the back seat aimed in an X toward the rear brakes.

I’d say that’s pretty close. Sticker on the truck says 5600 lbs. plus tool box, fuel, and the absurd amount of stuff we had in the truck and truck bed, plus the four of us. All that said, I will likely end up going up a tire rating at some point. I think that’ll be my weak point, for sure...

Yea you’re probably right. But for the sake of redneck math, it’s close enough ish.

Alright, ran it across the scales yesterday. This was headed home after a weekend at AOP. Generator is on the trailer(in front of rig) and camper is loaded full of supplies. We’ll call that 250 lbs in misc weight. After this, I’m estimating the Jeep at 4900 lbs. trailer at 2300 ish.

Truck stop scale. So it’s accurate ish.. Dry weight on the camper(according to the factory sticker) 996 lbs. Then subtract wheels, tires, axle, leaves, tongue, battery, and about 37 ft of random wiring I cleaned up. I’m guessing the camper is around 650-700. Also considering that I’ve removed...

After some changes, Trailer weighs 2400 including camper Rig weighs 5500 ish(I’ve never weighed it. But knowing other comparable rigs, I think I’m pretty dang close. So far, zero complaints considering it’s a 1/2 ton gas truck. I monitor my temps pretty close and it will still drop coolant...

I didn’t even know this was a thing. But yea, after seven years with the $700 trailer, I traded it off to Jeremy Moody for his crawler hauler. 24’ deck over with a ‘98 ish Coleman popup camper. It needed some work but the price was right. But the wife and my kids absolutely love it. Here’s...

Reign of Rocks Trail Rig Crawling Comp

Same reason most of ours wouldn’t ever be invited. It doesn’t look like a toyota anymore. Too buggy-ish. That said, I’ve watched 3 episodes so far. That s10 built by the guy that used to work at NASA is smokin! I’d wheel them heck out of that rig…if it was an extended cab.

Man I hate to hear that. Didn’t have a lot of dealings with him, but the few I did, he seemed like a pretty standup dude.

    Vehicle Market predictions

Not sure where they’re selling at, but sure as heck not around here. I bet there aren’t 6 new super duty trucks sitting on the three ford lots near me. I did see where someone local ish waited 10 months on their power stroke to come in and when it got here it had the gas motor in it.

    Vehicle Market predictions

There are lots all over, packed to the brim with 2021 super duty trucks(among other vehicles and manufacturers). Thousands of them. If chips don’t come in til 2023, there will be thousands of 2021’s that are new old stock. Do we really think they are going to sell them at the same sticker price...
