For my samurai on 31 inch tires, snow chains are the best snow tire. Almost works like a sled, put the chains on the back, steer at the front and go, go, go.

I'd like to make a similar point that other posters have made in this thread. I have been wheeling for many many years, and have been hiking for more than a few. Rock climbing, Alpine skiing, etc. I was involved in supporting the motorized groups for years. I spent hundreds of hours of my time...
