    The Ultimate Trail Bouncer Build

I heard you cussing your Atlas once this year Jeremy when you were switching from rear burn to front burn. It made me happy to see you struggling with it. :flipoff1:

    The Ultimate Trail Bouncer Build

Just catching up on this post lol. Ok Lee so I have to admit that I'm the mouth breather Jeremy (POR) is talking about regarding the Atlas front dig deal. The dude literally uses front dig at least 100 times a day. So at KOH years ago when my Jeeps Atlas was new and my cable shifters probably...

    Golden Mountain for sale

2 close riding buddies both said they were told today that it did change owners and it is going to reopen.

Just heard the park has been purchased and will be re-opened. Anyone else heard this or is it yet another myth..

    KOH 2020

You can drive a stock vehicle to the spectator areas for back door and chocolate thunder without a problem. If you have a stock 4wd you can easily get around through the desert to the entrances and exits of most of the trails out there. We were headed back from spooners canyon one year...

    KOH 2020

I'm going back this year for the 6th time. KOH is definitely a blast. The wheeling out there is awesome and totally different than around here (TN) but much of the reason I go back every year is to spend time and ride with the west coast friends I've made over the years. As far as prep goes...

    Low Gears

Well obviously.. It was just an example to explain the reasoning behind why a low gear ratio is physically not as strong as a higher gear ratio. The concept is the same across the spectrum of high to low. The lower the ratio the weaker it gets due to the lesser quantity of ring and pinion...

    Low Gears

I guess my point is for example.. all things being equal a dana 60 3.73 with a much larger 11 tooth pinion is going to handle more stress load events than smaller pinion dana 60 6.17 that has 5 less pinion teeth. Because with lower gear ratio's there's less teeth to do the work in comparison to...

    Low Gears

Yeah for gear strength, I wouldn't run anything lower than a 5.38. There's still 8 pinion teeth and 43 ring gear teeth on a 5.38 where as a 6.17 pinion only has 6 teeth and 37 ring gear teeth. So obviously, the lesser amount of teeth on the pinion puts a larger amount of stress on the ring...

    Let's see your tow rig!!!

I've had the new ford for a few weeks now. Absolutely love it so far, already leveled it and threw some dig tars on it. :JRich: New truck looks awesome dude. :dblthumb:

    Let's see your tow rig!!!

It has a 6.7 Cummins with an Allison trans as far as I remember.

    Breaking bell housings, need help

yeah I would say support the rear of the trans in the center with a bushing mount and remove your current case mounts. But since th350's are known for breaking at the tail housing I'd run a rear center case mount similar to this...

    Everything is sticky!

It seems to me that stickies have a lesser amount of elasticity in the rubber than non stickies which is why they hook harder and shred rubber off so much faster. I don't know if elasticity is the right word but there's definitely more to them than just a softer compound. They're like a pencil...

    Th400 upgrades

I ran a fairly built 400 in my prior rig for about 8 years and never had a failure. I'd say definitely upgrade to the big sprag. I'm no transmission builder so I can't attest to which upgrades are more important than others but here's the list of upgrades mine had. High pressure valve body...

Baddest Trail Rig in the Southeast.

He's kinda back into flying airplanes for fun right now but he's around and is always down for a good week/weekend of wheeling as usual. KOH earlier this month was the first time he's had his buggy out in month or two but a lot of that was due to the nonstop rain we've been getting every...

    6.7 powerstroke. Good or bad????

Re: Re: 6.7 powerstroke. Good or bad???? No his F750 has a 6.7 Cummins in it. He's just saying that he replaced the turbo on the engine.

    1,000 HP Elephant Trans

You can definitely build a th400 to handle that kind of power and even a lot more. There's plenty of beefy upgrades you could throw in it to make sure it stays reliable. 7x7 clutch packs, 36 element sprag (3 times larger than 34), billet planetary assembly, billet shafts, drum and hub, 4l80...

    USD stickies

My thoughts as well. And for the majority of us who just trail ride and actually enjoy working our way up hard trails for an entire weekend, a tire cut like that is worthless imo.

Official "Post your trail riding pics" Thread

Thanks, that pic was actually taken by the Blue Torch Fab helicopter at a Grayrock event. We were going up bents and dents when they flew over. I just happened to see them posted on FB the following week so I contacted them and got them to send me raw copies of all the pics they took.
