Standard transmission in a rock buggy?

I use mine as cruise control a lot more than I use it on the side of a hill. We went to Hawk Pride last year and hit Merlin right off the trailer around lunch time Friday. I was still trying to get my bluetooth to connect to my phone and get everything situated. Double low, hand throttle idled...

    85 Toyota...Saved from the scrapyard

Lake season is underway so I haven't really ridden the truck much. I picked up a GotPropane kit from a buddy of mine, put it on and went out for a little ride. Decided to get a poser pic.

Very simple. Cage is high on the to-do list as well as propane.

I wish I would've cut it down before the bed got in the condition it is now. I would love to keep the bed, but in reality I will probably end up with a flat bed at some point.

I still have a few more odds and ends to finish up on it. Add the hydro assist and cooler are definitely firsts.

    85 Toyota...Saved from the scrapyard

I bought 4" TG front, found a set of 2wd 63 Chevy springs for the rear. Both with a 5.5" shackle. High Steer, ARP knuckle studs, dual cases, Bud Built skid plate, Bomb Proof motor and transfer case mount, Bilstein shocks. I'm sure I am forgetting a few things.

After this ride I was over the **** springs, steering, tuning...and 31s. So immediately after it was torn apart. I needed a set of beadlock wheels. I was going to buy a new set of Battleborn wheels until Red94YJ found these on Marketplace for $200.

    85 Toyota...Saved from the scrapyard

Wheeled around like this for a year or so. I've put countless trunion bearings and tail lights in since. At some point I put disk brakes on the rear. Riding some local land I broke the tie-rod end out of the steering arm in the middle of the woods. Put it back together with a hose clamp and got...

    85 Toyota...Saved from the scrapyard

I had so much fun with this thing for the past few years with just a rear locker and 31s. In February 2018 me and handful of guys planned a weekend trip to Stoney. I pulled a few parts from the pile and went ahead and threw on a Weber carb and a set of Trail-Gear sliders.

I forgot about that! No big deal, it was less than $100 brand new. Only downside it doesn't have a drain plug.

    85 Toyota...Saved from the scrapyard

So, now I've had the truck up and running about a year. I get out a wheel the crap out of it and also find myself driving it around town more than I do my Tundra. I got hammered drunk one night and decided to order a dual case adapter. Around the same time a buddy of mine brought up the idea...

    85 Toyota...Saved from the scrapyard

After the first several miles I noticed it was running terrible. Fuel filter was completely clogged. Threw a new filter on it, within a matter of miles it was clogged again. I did a little looking around and found a direct replacement take for under $100 shipped. I also did a few cosmetic...
