    Unit Bearing on kingpin knuckle

Send me the drawings and I will print some more if you need it. You retain the the rights of course!! I don’t mind helping someone out. Plastic is a hell of a lot cheaper than having them machined and find out a dimension is wrong. I can hold A lot better tolerances now than when I printed...

    1350 carrier bearing setup

I also built mine. I had Hudlow Axle in Chattanooga build me a short 32 spline shaft, then did the same with a set of yokes and some DOM on my lathe. Sealed roller bearings aren’t the best for the side loads, but have held up well to my abuse. Tapered wheel bearings would be the...

PSC Steering woes - CBR pump blowing front seal

That statement was assuming you were using an external flow control.

PSC Steering woes - CBR pump blowing front seal

Anyone tried pulling the flow control out of the factory pump? My CBR pump doesn’t look like it has anything special about it as it relates to the flow control..

PSC Steering woes - CBR pump blowing front seal

I have no bypass feel. The external relief valve has bigger moving parts that react quicker. The return valve hole is gigantic compared to a factory pump. The relief valve is adjustable for what you need. If I remember, mine is set at 1250 psi. I am not promoting PSC over Howe, they both have...

PSC Steering woes - CBR pump blowing front seal

I will get some pics of mine today. I used PSC pump and flow control valve. To be honest, I don’t think they promote it because they would not sell as many pumps.

PSC Steering woes - CBR pump blowing front seal

Correct. The “factory” style pump has a tiny bypass hole. The fluid when bypassed just recirculates inside the pump. This builds heat. The pump with no flow control, just pumps fluid, no recert building heat. The external flow control valve, by passes any pressure above the set psi back into...

PSC Steering woes - CBR pump blowing front seal

I had the same problem damaging pumps and making heat. I now have a CBR pump from PSC with no flow control, and an external pressure relief. No more issues and greatly reduced the heat produced. I like to hit stuff and kept damaging my pumps.

    Rear rad hill climb woes

I had about a year of frustrating out of a rig with a rear mounted radiator. Jeep 4.0 with a blown head gasket. Replacing the head gasket fixed the issue. It did not always show up. Some rides it was great on others it would spew water out all day.

    5.3 overheat issue

I have a VVT 4.8 LS. Small by comparison, I beat the dog **** out of the motor at high RPM with no heating issues. My radiator is low in the rear so it only gets air from fans. I bought a blank Griffin radiator and set up a triple bypass radiator. Supply lines are -16 braided hose. The fans are...

Power steering pump setups for ls

Brown santa just dropped off my new XR CBR pump and external flow control valve from PSC. Goatbuilt set me parts to adapt the CBR pump in place of my TC pump I had been running with their bracket. I have not had time to put it all in yet. PSC suggested 11.3 pump for reference to work with my...

14 bolt front build thread and tech help

I drilled and added zirc fittings to my dually's front unit bearings 10 years ago. 200,000 miles later they are still tight. I put 4 or 5 pumps of grease them every time I change brakes. My experience on a daily driver. The unit bearings are just about the only thing I have not replaced on the...

Thinking about a new TIG welder ...

It is very smooth. I can only compare the Rebel's spool gun to the cobra spool gun I have with a big old Hobart mig. I have done a bunch of aluminum welding my my trailer from 1/8th sheet up to 3/8 inch C çhannel. I have a 400 amp Linde high frequency rig power supply and a Hobart 250 amp might...

Thinking about a new TIG welder ...

I bought an ESAB Rebel. I am building g a new rear axle and have pushed the little machine at 200 amps tig welding for extended periods of time. I was wearing mig gloves and have had to put the torch down because it was so hot on many occasions, the machine never cared. I have pushed the mig at...
