    Fuel Injection

Agreed says the man who used Holley ProJection in the mid-00's. Such a POS system!

    After the Flop?

I recently flopped my 5.0 (302) on both sides at different times, same trip. When on the driver's side, no issues at all. Bumped starter and had no resistance to start. Cranked back up and life was good. Next flop was on pass side and when laid over, oil tracked out of the valve cover and into...

    Tube buggy torque converter

Not be a broken record, but make a call to PTC and have them tell you what they suggest. Spend the minimal extra coin with them for a superior converter. Myself and many, many others have been super satisfied with their products and service. 2800-3200 sounds about right to me BTW.

    10.25 pinion depth

I've done 2 Sterling 10.25 this week. First one took 0.028" with a Yukon gear (4.30) and second one took 0.031" for an OEM 3.73 gear. I typically see them in the 0.028-0.030 range.

Tj rubicon 44 vs regular 44

Nothing fancy here TJ Rubi 44 housings accept typical old school 44 carriers and gears. No black magic or anything JK Rubi stuff is a different story however.

Transfer Cases?? PRO's and CON's (SCS, ATLAS, HERO)

I have an Atlas 4.3 now and couldn't be more satisfied with it. I may add a NW Fab crawl box to get additional front driveshaft length at some point. In the past I have had about every combination of t cases. By far my favorite was a Klune V/ Ford 205 doubler. The Klune was 2.72:1 and the 205...

    2 post lift and buggies

My lift is a Bend Pak with the individual stand offs and the pad that sets in the stand offs, like yours pictured. Sometimes i have to remove the pads and use the stand off to "hook" the rocker tubes. I then add appropriate ratchet straps to each arm to better secure them. Usually I can find a...

    The Sticky Tire Thread

I had never burped a bead on my 40" Treps until a cold Harlan run last December. It was 12* when we started and never warmed up past 25*. I was running 6 psi and burped a front tire once and the driver rear twice. It had never happened before in a year and a half of running them. I attributed it...

    The Sticky Tire Thread

Just had to mention I needed a tug or two didn't ya? :) I've run 39 Reds, 37 Treps, 40 Treps and now 40 Nitto stickies. Out of all 4, the Treps worked best for me. Both rigs that had stickies were trucks in the 4500# range and at 115 WB. I did rip 2 Krawler sidewalls during ECORS days but I...

    Torq converter opinions

4500#, 425 HP 306 with a C6. 5.13 gearing with a 4.3 Atlas. Cam is a Comp XE270 and the converter is a custom PTC. It stalls around 2500 in low and closer to 3400 in high range. It's a bit much in high, but in low it's perfect. In high, you just need to go with it and not baby it. No problems...
