Tube notcher suggestions for home shop

Yeah, the build co guillotine notcher looks really nice, but at $550 it's getting a bit above my budget. The pro tools one looks a lot like the JD2 I used, and not being able to notch near a bend was a PIA. Also the limited angle of notch made it less usable IMO....

Tube notcher suggestions for home shop

Thanks for all the input. That Versa notcher looks sweet. The JD2 with the goat and the reach around:oops: are basically the same price as the versa. As listed the capabilities seem similar also. Anyone have experience with both? Preference or pros/cons to either one?

Tube notcher suggestions for home shop

I'm looking for a tube notcher. Budget is definitely a consideration but I am leery of the harbor freight things... It will be used at least at first for smaller projects, tube doors, adding to an existing cage, bumpers etc. A full cage/chassis may be in the future but not any time real soon...

    Help with Master Cyl Selection

Thanks guys. That's the kind of info I'm looking for. I'll track one of those down and try to verify fitment. I'll measure the studs when I get home to make sure and add them to this thread.

    Help with Master Cyl Selection

So a look at Rock Auto shows the existing MC cross reference to tons of GM 80s trucks. C10-C30, Suburban, Jimmy etc. RAYBESTOS MC39413 Booster was used in all FSJ in the 80s as well as Buick and Cadillacs in the 80s. CARDONE 5471042 I know next to nothing about GM stuff, so not sure how close...

Hi all, I have GM 3/4-one ton calipers (JB6) on all 4 corners of a heavy (5k) Jeep cab truck. D60s Still have stock booster and master (88 J-10). Pedal is soft and braking power is only ok. System has been bled with vacuum and manually. I am reasonably certain there is no air present. I'd...

    Parking brake

https://www.mcmaster.com/hydraulic-control-valves/on-off-inline-hydraulic-valves-6/ Link to valve I used. Plumbed inline in rear circuit after the proportioning valve. Holds my heavy junk really well even on hills. I've used the manual line locks before and 3 out of 3 leaked... Never fooled...

    Parking brake

I've got an inline hydraulic valve plumbed into my rear brake circuit. Got it from Mcmaster for $40. Mounted so I can activate it with my left foot while standing on pedal with my right. Rated to 7000 psi. Not elegant, but works really good...

    Mighty MO

Hey Chuck, How much are you chopping off the frame? What's your wheelbase gonna be? It'll be cool to have another J truck on the trails. Used to be I'd see them in the dirt occasionally, now not so much.

    Mighty MO

Hey Chuck, I met you, Sherry and your father in law at AOP in August. I'm running the FiTech 600hp system on my AMC motor and it works really well. As Scooter mentioned, it has a wide band O2 sensor and "learns" so it seems the more time on it, the better. Only reason I'm running the 600 vs...
