there has to be another way. How do you add oil if needed? You mean to tell me, that if you want to change the oil in it, you have to remove it to do so? What brilliant engineer designed that? That would be enough not to buy one right there for me.

    mopar buggy project

Got the brackets all welded on the rear axle, now it's time for the rear frame mounts. I think it's lookin good. I am going to make the upper frame mounts adjustable and the lowers will be tucked inside the frame rails like the front. Nothing hanging out that way to get caught up on rocks. Link...

a typical sunday, went to get some things welded up and you know it, ran out of argon. Why always on a sunday. Anyways bought some stuff, brackets, tube adapters, from ballistic, the rest of my johnny joints, and jam nuts from currie. Now I just have to wait for the the tubing for the link bars...

I made out, we had our trade show for work this weekend, and one of the vendors gave me 4 rod ends for my 4 links. :awesomework: So now I only have 4 to buy, along with the rest of the needed pieces to complete the project. I'll be ordering all that tomorrow. Getting the tube adapters, flex...

who is a bonified sbc "CAM" guy here?

Well I learned something today, you are absolutely right. GM did not start putting roller lifters in trucks until 1996. They did start roller lifters sooner than that, but only in cars, which was 86-87. I searched thru the sealed power books at work, and then called a friend of mine at the...

who is a bonified sbc "CAM" guy here?

I am not absolutely sure, but I can check at work tomorrow for you and let you know. But I beleive all small blocks built 1987 and later were roller. Dodge and Ford were close to that also. My 90 dodge 360 is roller as is the 88 3.9 v6 in my crawler. I'll check the books, I've been wrong before...

    another johnny joint?

no experience yet, but I was recommended to use the 9/16 on the uppers and 5/8 on my lowers, and I would never have a problem. By the way, my scuba tanks float when they are empty and sink when they have over 2000 psi in them.:redneck:

who is a bonified sbc "CAM" guy here?

My suggestion, go to comp cams website, then the catalog, page 140. I have sold a few of these, guys like them and haven't had any problems with the computer that I know of. The grind # XR258HR is specifically designed for your engine, and since yours is a 91, it should be a roller cam engine...

    Project: Trail & ERROR

For what little it's worth, I tend to agree with some of the others. Building a buggy isn't cheap, not at all, and takes a ton of time. Mine is about as low budget as they come, and I've got close to 800 hours in it already. I had the engine, trans, one t case, d60 rear, and the start of a tube...

    mopar buggy project

Well this weekend sucks, not working on the buggy, got a respiratory infection. So doing lots of research. I've been trying to figure out what to run for tires and wheels. The tires are still up in the air, although Iroks are looking good. I want a good all around tire. Now with wheels, I've...

You might check this out for your front yoke. http://www.arizonadrivelines.com/Transfercase_and_differential_end_yokes.htm Go down the page, first one, it's a longer deeper yoke, therefore more angle and just might stick that driveline out there just enough to clear things. Worth a peek.

rod end size for steering arms?

I'd stay with what you have. On the 4 links on drag cars I've set up, 3/4 x 3/4 are what they run. The push and pull of a steering cylinder can't come close to the shock load of unleashing 1000 plus horsepower, coupled to 15x33 slicks with a trans brake. I really seriously think you will have...

    mopar buggy project

You know, my buddy Stan (noexcuses) and I were talking. He has a friend that just can't beleive how much buggy's are worth. I'm pretty lucky in the dollars I've spent so far, as I already had a lot of the stuff I've used, and I'm fabricating a lot of stuff to save money instead of buying it...

The link brackets are going to be mounted to the front face of the truss, in the calculations I've done, with the size of tires I plan to run, the seperation of the lower and upper links should be 9.75" apart. Several sources recommend 25% of total tire height. Does that sound better? I figured...
