Stephen Broady's "An Actual Trail Rig" build

It’s cool and all, but how many beers can it carry?

    Super Duty 60 knuckles

What JDuck said. We did Artecs on my SD knuckles and even with a 10” ram you don’t hit the stops on the knuckles. It’s enough and probably ideal for where my links are but you could get more out of it. Get the Jesse Haines Arms.

    Ls cooling

Update: Upgraded the fans that came from Griffin to Maradyne M122K fans. Wheeled for two days runs 175-185 most of the time. Hottest as is got was around 205. Moved the sending unit too so that is with the sender in the passenger head which I’ve already confirmed is cooler than location in...

    Trailbouncer #09 Uncle Tito

I finished it up Friday night and took it to a car show Saturday. Guy with the 200K Mclaren next to me had an awful day sitting there watching all the attention the buggy got. Pretty cool picture with the similar paint but completely different vehicles. Getting some better pics of it this...

    Ls cooling

Ls cooling I tore mine down for powder coat but will report back what changes the additional CFM have on temps when it gets back together. BTW- I think I already posted this but taking the thermostat out on an LS is going to have a negative effect on cooling because coolant can then keep...

    Ls cooling

Moved the temperature sensor to the passenger head today. Passenger head reads 6-12 degrees cooler. Idle temperatures 181 Driver Head 174 Passenger Head Getting after it temperatures 229 Driver Head 217 Passenger Head The fans that came on my Griffin Combo 31x15.5 radiator are 12” low...

    Ls cooling

The LS cooling system differs from SBC motors in that the thermostat is at the inlet of the pump (coolest point), not the outlet of the manifold (hottest point). Coolant flow over the thermostat comes through the heater core circuit (that many of us block off) and/or through the bypass check...

    Ls cooling

I can tell you what isn't working... Test Run in the new buggy this week. 225-230 if you're getting after it. Will cool back down to 185-190 while you idle and drink beers. Temps confirmed with Temp Gun. L96, LS3 intake, 228/230 Cam, conservative fuel ratio and timing, 2010+ Camaro Water pump...

That’s another reason I went with Holley EFI. They put 4 custom inputs and 4 custom outputs on CAN BUS that the CD7 can read. No need for the analog converter to get trans temp. Thinking of adding another so I can tell how cold my beer is. I don’t drink that gay water beer with mountains that...

    hydro pump

So far the hydroboost on my buggy is tits but there is a restriction under heavy braking that you can tell pulls down the motor at idle. I can only assume this is going to build heat over time. We shall see how well this Vanco work did. Gotta get around to putting it on after my asshole heals...

I really wanted the simplicity and bling factor of the digital dash. Holley didn’t have the big digital dash out when we were doing sheetmetal and I knew the AEM was offroad friendly. The AEM software isn’t the easiest to figure out but with their configuration file it interprets all the...

    After the Flop?

I’ve decided to ditch any PCV system on my new naturally aspirated LS buggy. The after market valve covers I’m using don’t have a pcv provision anyway. Will route lines 3 sides and down method with sinistered metal filters. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: Trailbouncer #09 Getting closer... JDuck finished up one of the most important parts of the build just before I picked it up. I had a couple coolers made so we’d both have one. It’s really brilliant. I’m slowly buying coolers for all my buddies so I am not responsible for everything I...

RCV Big Bells in 05+ F250/350 outers

That’s the shafts Randy is making me. With Violator joints. They should be getting heat treated this week. I’ll try to take some pics when they come. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

RCV Big Bells in 05+ F250/350 outers

Ive got some Ouverson’s being made because I hadn’t seen anyone really confirm this working yet. I know the bell will come out but getting that boot off when it’s all assembled and hub unbolted hasn’t been confirmed on the interwebs to my knowledge. Theoretically didn’t really cut it for me...
