TH350 - where can i measure oil temperature

I'd wonder how far off the case temperature would be from the fluid temperature at that location. Doesn't really matter what you are reading as long as it is indicating accurately enough.

More fire safety ( fire suppresion systems)

I hear you. And it isn't a criticism, just the way I look at it. They will eventually be as common as harnesses. With popularity comes insurance costs. On that same note, some consider the weight savings worth it to not have fire extinguishers I'm sure.

More fire safety ( fire suppresion systems)

It is really just a matter of how important it is to you and your risk tolerance. I'm sure some make sure they have room for a 40qt cooler, spare tire, tools, stereo, etc. Seems like a shoe box sized insurance policy isn't too crazy of thing to prioritize.

    hydro pump

I don't know the exact fittings or sizes, but pretty much open up any fittings that you can or purchase higher flow fittings. I don't think anyone does any major work other than the spool valve and perhaps using a drill bit here and there. There is definitely math involved that could optimize...

Pro Rock Stock Class XJ Build

Oh he could finish for sure, but I am pretty confident he would get punted into the woods on more than one occasion by a faster competitor that is actually in the race and too impatient for a place to pass under the assumption that he is going to move out of the way quick enough. KoH is much...

Pro Rock Stock Class XJ Build

His title indicates a Pro Rock Stock Class Build, and he has bypasses. Unless I am not up to date on rules, he isn't legal for Ultra4 unless he ran 4400, and I can all but guarantee that it would not be a pleasant experience in an XJ. I assume he will be at Mid America that same weekend racing...

Advice on straightening bent shaft yoke/ears

If it bent initially, that means it has been over stressed. Bending it back made it slightly weaker, think of bending a paper clip back and forth. It will probably still be suitable for regular use, but if you do whatever it took to bend it the first time, this time it will bend further and...

    Bumpstop problem

Interesting bump stop, but makes sense with old Bilstein. In the last picture, you can see what appears the cap or dust cover at the bottom most portion of the body. Without seeing the business end, it looks to me like it should pop off carefully with screwdriver or pocket knife with the tip...

    Bumpstop problem

Do you have a picture or model number? Generally, remove the valve core releasing the nitrogen pressure. Then a combination of circlip and spring clips hold it all together. Mostly be careful with the any sealing surface and keep a clean work area. As far as location, you can pretty well do...

    Fuel Cell Size

I would bet you get nearly double the mileage per gallon if you are trail riding not racing.

    Trail Comms

As far as visually, I would say they are the same. I think the selling point to Rugged would be having all the offroad and common channels already set up on there. There may be a few other software tweaks, but I couldn't say for sure.

    90's throw back....Manche build

I know it isn't totally uncommon, but that header is gonna be warm after a few miles.

Anyone hear of this? Sounds made up. But also seems like it may work?

Figured it was easier to link it for you since it was already in my bookmarks. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/general-4x4-discussion/562853-project-lo-budget-pimpin.html

    Gear mismatch front to rear

The difference in 5.38 and 5.42 is less than 1%. I would be willing to bet you could see that much difference in just by having various tire pressures.
